Smoked a few.  Didn't care for them, honestly.  I'm not much of a cigar guy, though.

In Niagra Falls on the Canadian side I had 2 while playing the slots.  I liked them but I've had just as good in the states.

My brother-in-law scored some Cubans for me last year.  They're good... the most noticeable thing is how smooth they are.

I have found a few Canadian distributors online who offer "discrete mailings to the US," but they are expensive as hell.

I've seen that, it's definitely not cheap.   They remove all the labels and pack the cigs in another box (e.g. Dominican-made), then mail the labels to you in a separate envelope.

But this ban on Cuban cigars is getting silly, especially in these times.

They are over rated and needlessly expensive. American's create the shortage and then suffer the monetary consequences.

Villagers.
Swiss made.
Excellent cigar, the tobacco is not cuban though...not sure where it's from but it's a much better smoke.
I know.
I've been to Cuba.
Same with Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee.......there is better CHEAPER coffee.

hype is just that.
hype.

Part of getting older, isn't just about enjoying the finer things it's about getting really REALLY cheap about stuff.....and enjoying finer things.

I wouldn't mind going to Cuba.  Unfortunately, I suspect it's probably been commercialized pretty badly now.  I suspect it's become just another Club Med kind of thing.

their airport was certainly interesting.
very "military" they seperate you from whomever you're travelling with during the passport/ident inspection phase in a small room with doors on either side. They also respect you might be american so they stamp a piece of paper.and slip it into your passport, which you can remove after your trip.

for a poor country we were shocked to see them with a body temp/thermal imager during the Swine Flu thing.

I'm wondering where  I can take a woman for a date at night in the city after work. Going for dinner sounds good. What do/have people here done?

Also to be able to have some quiet time together during or after - I've found that taking a short walk provide some moments for this although in a city you've got to stop and go to one side for a bit if you want to avoid crowds.

Also, what if you go somewhere for dinner in an area where you're not familiar - do you just generally walk in and ask for a table?

Dating or otherwise, I usually familiarize myself with a place before I eat there.

If I'm planning dinner with an eye towards getting to know someone, I might be inclined to pick some place where there'll be a wait for a table.  An extra 30 minutes to sit at the bar or sit outside and people watch is a bonus in that situation.

I've been seeing a woman who lives at the other side of the city. We both work during the day and have friends or other commitments some of the weekday evenings. How do people here stay connected with their significant others?

The simple answer is you find a way to make time for things that matter to you in life.

Yup.  Not much to add upon there.

A different consideration, though, is that you don't need to spend all of your time together.  Maintain your separate lives and see how much you want to include the other person.  Trying to force the situation is a bad plan.  Make time when you can and don't fret when there's isn't any.

I know I'm old and out of touch with the modern scene, but when I was dating, my girlfriend and I used something called a telephone, or "phone" for short.  We could talk to each other and hear each other's voices, even all the way at the other side of the city from each other.  It was pretty cool.
