It's so weird. I'm 40.....not all that 'old'.....I exercise and stay active but like you said Orbert the 'normal' things are really starting to be hazards to my health.  Taking a bite out of a freaking Apple literally sent a lightning bolt like jilt through my upper back muscles and left me aching. WTF?

I was never a guy who 'feared' aging but it's almost comical that here the year i turned 40 I've had a host of minor muscle pulls and aches and pains I've never had before.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it only gets worse.  I was the same way. Oh, I had some back issues in my mid 20s, but was mostly pretty healthy and exercised frequently..and then I hit 40 three years ago and it has not been the same.  Getting older sucks.

Although I occasionally refer to the TV/Cable remote as a "clicker" and completely mystify my kids (as well as piss off my wife lol).

Wait... are you from the south?  Down there, all drinks are "Coke".  Root beer is "Coke", Mountain Dew is "Coke", hell... Pepsi is "Coke".  So wrong.  But it would explain things.

I suppose that may be true in SOME parts of the South.  But I have lived in North Carolina all my life, and we certainly do not call every drink "Coke".  We refer to each drink by its actual name.

It's the same up here. Things are asked for by their name. Nobody asks for a Coke only to have someone bring them a Pepsi. That's like...grounds for death. 

But what if all I wanted was a Pepsi?  And you wouldn't give it to me? Just one Pepsi?

And colors are not fucking flavors. Neither are atmospheric phenomenon. For a while gatorade (another genericized trademark) fulfilled some nutritional requirements, and the only flavors they sell are stupid Purple Fog, and Yellow Mist, and Blue Haze. You see that with all sorts of things now.

This is a normal occurrence for us now.  Last fall I went on my roof to clean the gutters and clean my chimney.  Like a moron, I did not stretch and now both Achilles tendons ache every day.  I strained them and they just wont heal.

My mother's father used to peel white unions and eat them like an apple. He also would chop them into a bowl, cover them with milk, pour molasses over them and eat it up like breakfast cereal.

He lived to be 98.
