I guess Jays in the box didn't even strike me as weird, since that's how I remember them.  I didn't think about the fact that chips don't normally come in boxes.

We had a brand that came in boxes here as well but it wasn't Jays. Can't recall what it was. I always thought it was weird that they cost less, but the chips came out less smashed up. No such option these days that I'm aware of.

I gotta admit, chips in a box seems really weird.

But I am no discriminator of snacks.  If they are good, they are good.

Um, yeah, something like that.

I accidentally showed it to my 13 year old. That was awkward. But I have to admit I take a certain pleasure in making her shriek "OH MY GOD, MOM!" :lol (in my defense, she's shown me far worse things on the internet. she can handle it.)

So on vacation last week, we were driving and I asked my son to hand me my Walkman. Of course he was like, "wut?".
I said my Walkman, and suddenly my entire family started laughing at me.

Am I the only Fogey that refers to his iPod Classic as a Walkman?? :lol

I never had a real Walkman, an actual device manufactured by Sony, so when I was growing up I never called it that.  It was my portable tape player, or usually just my "tunes".  I go somewhere, I grab my tunes.  When I graduated to CDs and portable CD players, it was still my tunes.  It's been an iPod for years, though.  I never bothered with an mp3 player until they made an iPod big enough to be worthy, and when I got it I was pretty happy about it, so I've always called it my iPod.

But now I have two of them, so I'm back to just calling it my tunes.  I go somewhere, I grab my tunes.  It sounds to me like you're using the word "Walkman" as a generic term for whatever your portable tunes are.  I'm sorry, but that's just not right.  In fact, it's wrong.

I used the term "tunes" back in the day as well. I may have had an actual Walkman, but I certainly had a number of cheaper models. I do use it generically for sure. Always have. Apparently still do!

I hate that shit.  Stuff you used to be able to do literally without thinking, now you can actually injure yourself if you don't think about it and make sure you do it right so you don't injure yourself.  What the fuck?

I can't even remember the last time I just got up out of bed and walked to the bathroom.  These days, I stand up, stretch, at least take a second to make sure all the muscles are working.  Then I can walk the 15 feet down the hall.  Seriously?  I remember not having to do all that just to take a piss.

I remember leaning over to tie my shoelaces.  Now I literally don't even take that chance.  I sit my ass down somewhere, set my shoes in front of me, and yeah now I can lean over and tie my shoelaces, and I'm going "ughhhh" the whole time because I'm leaning over and my fat gut is spilling over my belt and I can't breathe, because I'm leaning over.

It didn't used to be like this!!  It pisses me off.  I can remember not being in physical pain all the time.  I can remember walking to the kitchen to get something to eat without having to specifically stand up straight because my natural tendency now is to slouch, but I cannot allow that habit to develop because if I do, the next thing I know, I'll be old and bent over.  At least this way I just old.

Remember "Hope I die before I get old"?  Okay, I don't share that sentiment; I'd definitely prefer to keep going.  But I do understand it.  Getting old sucks.

It's so weird. I'm 40.....not all that 'old'.....I exercise and stay active but like you said Orbert the 'normal' things are really starting to be hazards to my health.  :lol Taking a bite out of a freaking Apple literally sent a lightning bolt like jilt through my upper back muscles and left me aching. WTF?

I was never a guy who 'feared' aging but it's almost comical that here the year i turned 40 I've had a host of minor muscle pulls and aches and pains I've never had before.

See, that's what I'm talking about.  Basic, everyday shit you that never thought twice about, like standing on one foot for the two seconds it takes to put your leg into your fucking underwear, or put on a sock.  These days, I actually have to pause and make sure I have my balance first.  Every time, or I risk falling, or at least losing my balance and bumping into a dresser or something.  Dammit!  This did not used to be an issue!

You start using the bed to put your sock on since it holds your leg up for you.

Yeah, probably.

Although I occasionally refer to the TV/Cable remote as a "clicker" and completely mystify my kids (as well as piss off my wife lol).

Wait... are you from the south?  Down there, all drinks are "Coke".  Root beer is "Coke", Mountain Dew is "Coke", hell... Pepsi is "Coke".  So wrong.  But it would explain things.
I suppose that may be true in SOME parts of the South.  But I have lived in North Carolina all my life, and we certainly do not call every drink "Coke".  We refer to each drink by its actual name.

We'll certainly say "hey, get me a Dr. Pepper" but coke is definitely the generic term. Nobody calls it a soda or a pop. Best example is that we have coke machines, regardless of which distributor owns it.

It's the same up here. Things are asked for by their name. Nobody asks for a Coke only to have someone bring them a Pepsi. That's like...grounds for death.  :lol

LOL. We don't rely on telepathy down here, either. Coke is just a generic term for what you guys a soda, soft drink or pop. I believe it's considered a genericized trade name, like aspirin, band-aid or Kleenex. Slow cookers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, yet we all cook things in Crock-Pots™, whether it's made by Sunbeam or not.
