:lol yeah, it was pretty cool, actually.

You know how bar bands typically get free beer?  We got free...coffee and other assorted beverages.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

another moldling checkin in with just a few jogs for memory...

for starters: My parents drove me home for the first time in the front seat of the car  :tup there were no safety belts in most cars I was in until I was 15. (<---unheard-of in today's world) Worn one with every car ride since then.

a commercial - I remember this being on TV:

HOT DOGS, Ar-mour HOT DOGS
What kind of kids love Ar-mour HOT DOGS?
Big kids, lit-tle kids, kids who climb on rocks
fat kids, skin-ny kids, ev-en kids with chicken pox
love HOT DOGS, Ar-mour HOT DOGS
The dogs kids love to bite!

Oh. My...Could we EVER get away with that "fat kids, skinny kids" stuff today??   oh, and you know P.E.T.A. would be ALL OVER that last line :xbones :police: :\

I also remember saying "Cool". One word that's definitely stood the test of time.

"Cool" definitely has persisted.  Things were cool back in the 50's, for cryin' out loud.  Things were still cool in the 60's, 70's, and on to today.

Meanwhile, things have been rad, def, phat, groovy, fine, and fresh, but they aren't anymore.  There are other examples.

Another one that's been around a while is "sweet".  Things were sweet back in the 70's, maybe even before.  Things can still be sweet now.  Things have been awesome since the early 80's or so, and that's not bad.

I'm just relieved not to be gagged with a spoon anymore.

Why was "totally tubular" such a good thing? I guess tubes are good...

I believe one of the original song lines was, "tough kids, sissy kids"
You know they wouldn't get away with that in this age of political correctness.

Its ironic isn't it ? We are clearly in an age of moral decay, yet the pulse seems to be on making sure you don't offend anyone. What a joke. :\

All 3..
I hated doing anything after school for fear of missing an Ultraman show.
Isis was one slice of cheese above ElectroWoman and DynaGirl. I'll be damned if that stopped me from watching every Saturday though :lol.
Also, Pink Panther cartoons were a huge deal in my house. :hat

The Mighty Herculese was my vice....I'm still trying to get my private torrent site to up it for me...someone has to have it. I have all of Ducktales, Pirates of Darkwater, all 96 -20 minute Transformer episodes and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. 80's Cartoons kicked serious ass.
Take care everyone - Bet you all didn't even notice I was gone.

Thundarr the Barbarian

Many, many more
