My perfect DT Show
« on: June 17, 2015, 10:37:46 PM »
This has to become real... please god

1.- You Not Me
2.- Just let me Breathe
(James tells the audience to go f*ck themselves have a great time)
3.- Drum Solo
4.- A Nightmare to Remember (With extended ending solo)
(James gives a message and thanks fans for submitting their petitions for a cover)
5.- The Scientist (Coldplay Cover, interrupted at 3/4 of the song with JR Shredding solo because his piano voice started playing half-steps)
6.- Raw Dog
7.- The Answer Lies Within
(Mike Portnoy walks in and sits in MM's drumkit)
8.- Honor Thy Father
(Mangini and Portnoy begin to argue, Petrucci tries to separate them. Labrie begins telling jokes to distract the audience)
9.- Vacant
(Mangini and Portnoy arrested and taken out the venue)
 -- Intermission --
10.- Wait for Sleep
(Petrucci returns)
11.- The Silent Man
12.- Through Her Eyes
(Mangini busts into the stage and sits at the kit)
13.- The Looking Glass
14.- Prophets of War
15.- Schmedley Wilcox (The Octavarium part not played, because Portnoy arrives at the stage)
(Argue between Portnoy and James, which ends in the band agreeing to play a song with Portnoy)
16.- Wither
(John Myung says his first live word, which is "Goddamit" and tackles Portnoy)
(Portnoy leaves the stage, promising to return)
17.- Lie
18.- Keyboard Solo
19.- New Millenium
20.- As I am
(Portnoy returns with his own kit and begins constructing it and demands to have mics)
21.- Repentance (James gets pissed off and leaves the stage, MP sings the lead vocals)
(Portnoy's kit is finished and mics placed, however, no soundcheck is done so the sound is very high)
22.- Drum duel between MM and MP
(James returns)
23.- A Change of Seasons (Because MM and MP trying to outplay each other, the song is played much much faster than original, reducing its length to about 16 minutes)
(Everyone stands up and thank the audience, MP runs away and the band leaves)
---- Encore ----
(The whole band with MP return and James takes the mic)
24.- Let it Go (James singing and Mike Portnoy enacting the situation, also doing backing vocals, the lyrics are changed to suit MP's situation with DT, which MP finally "Lets go" and leaves)
25.- Música Ligera tape plays as the band says goodbye

This happens in the alternate universe where Raw Dog is played live.

I'm telling you, this is how "Fifty Shades of Grey" started.

I certainly hope I never have to sit through that show.

This setlist is legitimately better than the one from the last tour.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I've pretty much seen it already.  March 22, 2002, at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston.  Myself and three friends were in the first row of the balcony practically hanging over the stage.

First Set:
1. The Glass Prison
2. Burning My Soul
3. The Killing Hand
4. Surrounded
5. Through My Words
6. Fatal Tragedy
7. The Great Debate
8. Another Dimension
9. Guitar solo leading into Scarred
10. 2112 Part VII: Grand Finale
11. Take the Time into a double drum solo with Portnoy and Mangini (can be verified)

Intermission, with a recording of Six Degrees' Overture telling us to get back to our seats

Second Set:
12. About to Crash
13. War Inside My Head
14. The Test That Stumped Them All
15. Goodnight Kiss
16. Solitary Shell
17. About to Crash (Reprise)
18. Losing Time/Grand Finale

Encore:
19. Home
20. The Spirit Carries On
21. Pull Me Under into Master of Puppets

This was the third time out of an eventual seven that I had seen the band, and was by far the longest and best set that they played.  Most of the other times were on co-headliner and Progressive Nation festival dates, so they played maybe half as long as they did on that evening.  I didn't care about the LTE and the Rush song, since they didn't take up too much of the set and I had completely forgotten about them until I looked up the set on setlist.fm.  Had they played those on the Queensryche co-headlining tour or the Progressive Nation shows I would have been pissed because that time would have been better allocated playing their own music.  The Master of Puppets was cool and I liked the fact that they had a graphic on screen of the original album cover only with Dream Theater instead of Metallica in Metallica's classic 1980's font.  Another thing I liked was that there was no Hollow Years (they always seemed to play that song every time I saw them) to be found.  Overall, this is probably the best concert I've ever been to.

First set:
- False Awakening Suite into The Enemy Inside
- The Dark Eternal Night
- Peruvian Skies
- The Ministry of Lost Souls
- Outcry
- These Walls
- Through My Words/Fatal Tragedy
- Learning to Live
- Illumination Theory

Second set:
- Home
- Endless Sacrifice
- In the Name of God
- Take the Time
- Breaking All Illusions

For the record, this is just a bunch of random tracks I'd like to see live, no real thought behind the order except for some
people on this board are actual music fans who developed taste in music and not casual listeners who are following current fashion trends and listening to only current commercial hits.

Jeez, I had too much to drink when I made this.
It's still a show I hopefully will be a DVD.

Thank you all people! Awesome ideas too!
