The Root Of All Evil vs The Enemy Inside
The Answer Lies Within vs. Along For The Ride
These Walls vs Surrender To Reason
I Walk Beside You vs. The Looking Glass
Panic Attack vs. Behind The Veil
Never Enough vs Enigma Machine
Sacrificed Sons vs The Bigger Picture
Octavarium vs Illumination Theory

3 wins each, and 2 ties. But I prefer DT12 overall, because nothing is as mind-numbingly boring as TALW.

Pretty close though, but I'm not the biggest fan of either album.

Along For The Ride is worse.
You are obviously using some strange definition of the word "worse" with which I was previously unaware.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Voted DT12 in every instance besides TROAE, Never Enough, and 8V (the song).

8V is overall a stronger epic track than IT, but DT12 is in general a whole lot more consistent as an album.

Hef would never say either of those things.

Because neither is true.

The good of 8V the album are really good. The bad are also really bad.

ALL THE OCTAVARIUM

(Except SS vs TPB. I don't like SS a whole lot)
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I listened to both this week. DT12 sounds a bit more darker and groovy, like Awake. Both are awesome.
Perhaps you should ask bosk to reverse the "e" and "a" in the second half of your user name.

So. ADTOE was the  new DT's answer to Images & Words. Dream Theater was dark and heavy like Awake.

Could they now be doing the double album they intended Falling Into Infinity to be ?

Following the trend backwards, was BC&SL the second incarnation of WDADU? SC=Majesty demos?

Edit: if this is true, octavarium is the "last" album. Octavarium was Dream Theater's last album with Atlantic Records. It was also the last album recorded in The Hit Factory.

This story ends where it BEGAAAAAAAANNNN!

DT wins in everyone, except Octavarium/IT
