Sorry for the delay guys
Round 7: Dark round - THE RESULTS
This round was good - you guys sent equally creepiness/darkness and melancholic stuff. Good job.
FIRST PLACE: Nekov, with "Starless" by King Crimson
King Crimson always fascinated me. I know a couple of their tunes of course, but never bothered exploring them fully - even though I know that I would really like them. This song is proof of this, in fact I've loved it instantly. Starless starts out with this jazzy and emotional vibe, it's fairly quiet. Then it goes through this build up, based on a dissonant bass riff, and this is where the creepy part starts. Once it builds up enough it explodes in a fast jazzy solo part, to then end with an epic vibe.
This track was the most varied out of the 8 tracks of this round, and I think it's one of those who captured the "dark" vibe I asked for the best.
9.5 pointsSECOND PLACE: Sacul, with "Lunacy" by Swans
Swans always frightened me in the first place. When last year everyone was crazy for To Be Kind (their latest album), I went ahead and
tried to listen to it, but my mind kind of imploded along with my sanity, so Swans was an instant nope for me. This song though, is catchy and creepy, and also relatively short, and it leaves a strange kind of mark in your head once you listen to it enough times. I love the build up to it and the calm release in the end.
Good job Sacul, you provided some nice LUNACY

LUNACY
9 points + 0.5 points because I didn't dig Swans. So 9.5 points.THIRD PLACE: Shadowninja with "Katy's Song" by Red House Painters
The best "sad" type of entry. A really good ballad full of feels. That's pretty much all there is to say. I love the dark vocals and the laid-back beat, and the outro is also goddamn good.
8.5 pointsFOURTH PLACE: A tie between
Elite, with "Street Spirit (Fade Out)" by Radiohead
I love the vocal line in this. Strange because I really don't line Thom Yorke's timbre, I find him really tiring to listen to. But this song is fairly cool, and I expected a little bit more when you said it's the "most depressing Radiohead song", but what the hell, it's good.
Sneakyblueberry, with "Sleep And Dream" by Battle Of Mice
Talking about vocal lines, this is creepy. The vocals in here freak me out, but admittidely they are a bit annoying. Otherwise, this is another one of the songs that caputred better the "dark" vibe.
8 pointsFIFTH PLACE: Scorpion, with "The Morning Never Came" by Swallow The Sun
Nice death/doom metal song. It has an Opeth vibe in the beginning but then everything sounds more ominous and menacing than Opeth. I really like the concept of the lyrics, and I think that it flows good enough - The thing is, I prefered some other tunes to this one, but this is good.
7.5 pointsSIXTH PLACE: WebRaider, with "Voice Of The Soul" by Death
I like Death. Never really got into them, but I like their style. But this is not their usual style, infact, this is a 3-minute acoustic instrumental. It does a good job in creating a sad vibe, but that's about it - I would've sent something longer and more interesting, but not bad at all.
7 pointsLAST PLACE: Evermind, with "Fear Of The Night" by Absolute Priority
It feels bad giving a band from my country the last place, but the truth is: this does not fit at all in what I asked you, Ev. I know, the concept is kinda dark, but the song just wasn't for me. If you had sent this in the previous round, I would've gave you a 7, but you picked the wrong round and so I'm sorry, but
5.5 points.--- And there we go. The roulette is practically done, one more round left!
Sacul - 57 points
Elite - 56.5 points
Sneakyblueberry - 56 points
Shadowninja - 56 points
Nekov - 55 points
Scorpion - 53.5 points
Evermind - 51.5 points
Web Raider - 49.5 points

Ok so guys, this will be the last round with 8 players. The next round is just between the top two. So, with that, I ask you to please blow me away with some good closers, under 15 minutes in length. Just like the first round, anything that you feel that closes an album or a concert really well. Good luck with that!
