I love both Saviour Machine's and Nils Frahm's stuff. Even Ruined Machines and David Maxim Micic are damn impressive - no doubt why they all made my top 50.

which surprises me, honestly. I expected a lot more people on this forum to dig them. I totally got a Dream Theater-y vibe when I first heard them (not in terms of sound or style necessarily, but the mixture of high-soaring vocals, catchy melodies, heavy riffage, groovy rhythm section, and instrumental prowess makes a comparison justified I think).

Even if the more traditional prog-metal fans dont like them, I figured they would at least get some love from the Animals As Leaders/Periphery/Between the Buried and Me/djent-whatever fans on this forum.

So I was wrong

666 in particular is an album I find myself in awe of no matter how many listens I have in it. Truly one of the most consistent things I've ever heard. Their prior two records are also quite good.
