Yeah, I'll look at both of yours again regarding the +0.5. For whatever reason it made sense to me last night to not give it, but now I'm not 100% sure. The criteria for it is not being either prog or hard rock/metal. I'll take a look at both of yours today and figure out which side of the hard rock line they are.

I should have sent "Tracy's Mom" from Fountains Of Wayne.  That song is the happiest ear worm ever. :lol

Yay! I was a bit worried whether you'd find the song a bit cheesy or not - glad you loved it. Sufjan has an ability to make such comfy and personal music. Be sure to check that album, Illinois.

Ahhh! Real busy weekend guys, sorry. Sending now!
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.

Sometimes I wonder if I should have policies about these things.

But yeah, go ahead. It doesn't affect the game in any way and other people have done this as well, just usually more quickly.

Alright, I'll post some first impressions now. I'm shooting for Sunday, but it might be Monday. It's been a busy week and this'll be a busy weekend, which is why I wanted to postpone the full-size epic round.

First:

1) Damn, you all really pushed the envelope on the length. So many songs over 6:00. Don't think I'm going to penalize anyone because it was mostly reigned in, but this aspect of this round serves to me as a reminder to you all that on the next round, sending a long song could really be something that works against you, because I'll have so much material.

2) Once again, two people sent a song by the same artist. And once again, I won't tell you which, so that you can wonder if it was you. :P

EDIT: Here are the first impression quotes.

"This type of thing almost always goes well with me; I think it's really beautiful"
"Really eclectic"
"The title here is really fitting with the music."
"Hmm. Songs like this often don't get through to me that well. Time will tell if this one succeeds."
"Like [another song], this one is pretty chaotic."

Well, I think you should penalize everyone ( ), because in fact I ditched two songs that were in 6:00 - 6:30 range due to time limit, and now after this post, I totally won't sent the 31 minutes epic I've planned to send.

Also, almost all first impressions could apply to my song except the third one.
