They're going progressively backwards in time! I love it!
It's cool, but it sucks that there's been some albums that have been skipped over completely already. It's understandable for Power Windows, which was well represented last tour, but not sure about the other omissions...I hope that some songs from these missing albums will appear at other shows, and not just the usual (lead single) tracks.
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Well I was hoping for something from Test For Echo or Presto, but I doubt that will happen  now.  Maybe the B set will have B-sides?

But I'm not looking at this tour as a complete work, but more as an addition to the rest of the tour sets.   And as long as I'm not hearing Limelight or Fly By Night/In The Mood, I'm counting my blessings. So no "complaints" from me so far but it's still early.  Have to say I'm really glad the comedy is off the charts this time too.

But I'm not looking at this tour as a complete work, but more as an addition to the rest of the tour sets.
Perhaps, but even when the stuff that they've selected to represent specific albums has already been well-represented on live albums, including those within the last 13 years, it's hard not to be frustrated that they're not breaking out a few more unusual choices so that they also have a live representation (Vapor Trail vs. OLV/Cut to the Chase vs. Animate/Kid Gloves vs. DEW/The Weapon vs. Subdivisions). But as I posted earlier, I'll reserve judgment for the future after they've played at least 2 or 3 more shows (and likely, everything they've rehearsed)...but it ain't looking good so far for the first set. I'm sure the second set will be more fun/exciting, but I'm just as interested in the later catalog as I am the early stuff.
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Are you sure???  because the biggest bomb yet just dropped. Freakin.....GARDEN....ROAD......

EDIT:   Ok....seriously....I think someone's messing with me.  Because they just added a 2nd encore with about 5 more songs and I don't see how it could be true...

You may have to take this last one with a grain of salt.

How long is this show?

There's an encore two now?  I got to think setlist.fm is messing with us now.

Edit: Yep, they were.

Ok....now it's been updated with the 2nd encore removed and it says that Working Man had a "Garden Road Outro"  that seems *a bit* more believable.

I was wondering about that.   And I DO have visual confirmation on Instagram that the double-neck guitars returned for that song!!  :hat

I was not expecting to ever see that one. I hope that isn't one that's getting rotated. I love that song

Since they are ending the regular set with 2112, they seem to be at least attempting to encore with a song each from the first 3 albums.  If they rotate it out, it would most likely be with Bastille Day, and Anthem may get rotated for Fly By Night....but ya never know.   What You're Doing was the big one for me.  My favorite song from the first album.

Well, I stand by my criticism of the first set, but WOW regarding that second set! Definitely didn't expect them to do some of the stuff that they did - especially in the encore! Hopefully when I see them, we'll get the same songs for the encore. And very cool to see what they did for the stage - not only is Neil's kit retro, but with the double necks and apparently even all the stage decorations go retro so that by the encore, it looks like they're playing a high school gig! And I'm happy to see some of the perennial favorites missing from the set, such as YYZ and Limelight, which are great songs but sooooo overplayed.

I'm also glad to see in the comments that apparently for Roll the Bones, Peter Dinklage, Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Tom Morello and The Trailer Park Boys sang the rap on the big screen, which is a welcome change if that song has to be in the set.

Yup - I'm officially excited to see this show and to keep tabs on what they'll be playing at other shows!

FWIW, I think YYZ will be getting swapped in for Red Barchetta on alternating nights. But yeah, I generally agree.

I see from that tour pamphlet thing that the Camera Eye is going to get played.  Any idea on which songs they will swap it with?

No clue, but hopefully Red Barchetta, YYZ and/or The Spirit of Radio. I hope Jacob's Ladder stays in the set for all shows considering how long ago it was last played.

Dat second set and encore! :omg: I'm shocked they played Lakeside Park (or anything from COS, for that matter), because I've heard Geddy dislikes that song. I was only expecting Overture/Temples/Grand Finale when I saw 2112 in the tour book list, but it's really cool that they threw in Presentation as well. I was kind of expecting Xanadu and I'm glad my prediction was correct! :metal I think that first set could be a little less safe, but concentrating on the hits is understandable given that this is an anniversary tour. It would've been cool if they'd played something from every album, but on the other hand this is a great way to make up for the lack of 70s stuff on the last tour.

My predictions for the second night:

The Wreckers instead of The Anarchist
Big Money instead of DEW
YYZ or The Camera Eye instead of Red Barchetta (maybe there'll be a C setlist?)
Natural Science instead of Jacob's Ladder (I know they haven't played JL in 35 years, but I can't think of a better spot for NS, and their lengths are similar)

All I can say is that they'd better have a European leg. This would be my first time seeing Rush live (and, at this rate, my last) and the setlist looks rather good! Fingers crossed

F*ck F*ck F*ck F*ck F*ckity F*uck!  There is NO WAY this band can come up with that setlist and NOT play a European leg. Hell, if they don't, I will be personally tracking down Geddy, Alex and Neal and demanding every penny I've ever spent on this band back from them, with interest. And if they don't pay up, I'll put pigeon shit in their mailboxes.

Jacob's Ladder...FINALLY!

All of Xanadu...YES!!!!!!

That encore...MY GOD. :hefdaddy :hefdaddy

They need to rotate NOTHING*. That set list is perfect just the way it is.

*Because I doubt One Little Victory will get rotated, and that is the one song I'd like to chuck.
