Thanks for sharing, I just purchased one myself.  Very spur of the moment, but I've been wanting something like this for awhile and it seems like a good price for something of good quality like this (and also of one of my favorite bands too!).

That does seem like a fair price.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

A beautiful autographed canvas print for under 100 bucks? Stellar deal.

Not that I would even consider buying it anyway, but I think the curved effect makes the photo look crappy anyway.

I don't mind the curved effect.  What I don't like is that it's a live shot and most of the band is hard to make out.  I would have loved a more upclose look at all of them. It's still cool though.

That's what I was thinking. JLB and JP are the only two really visible.

I agree its not the best shot, but you can make out every band member while performing which I find to be cool enough.

I noticed the webpage said something about a DT Photo Book coming out in August 2015.  Is there more info about that somewhere?  Is it just photos if the current lineup, or does it span back to the early days?

That's the first I've seen it mentioned, but coming in their 30th anniversary year, my speculation (and that's all it is) would be that it would span the career.

That's what grabbed my attention too - it's the first I heard of anything like that. If it's merely a book from the most recent lineup or tour, I'll probably pass unless it's dirt cheap (unlikely); but if there's photos that go back quite a way, I'll buy it.
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I believe the book will only include photos that Rob took on this last tour of them that he was the official photographer for. I think his other photo books go for around $40?

I'm sure this will sell out, but I'm with you, I'm not too interested in it because it's not that aesthetically pleasing to me.

Seems to fall under the What Would Rush Do? category.  Not that I'm against that in principle, but I just evaluate on a case-by-case basis.

IIRC, I remember something about this book that some of the profits are going to a cancer charity. I think the DT Tech that is also a photographer answered that question on FB a while back

I'm really tempted to get this portrait and the 50% of the book as well.

I'm with you on that.  I would love to get some more old photos of the band.  Lifting Shadows provided a lot of nice content but I could always go for some more.
