I found enjoyable because it wasn't just nonsense. It felt pretty legit for the most part.

I have a few days off of work and my sons are in Florida so I have decided to just be a bum and rewatch the Best pic nominees. Started yesterday with Room. What a great movie. If Spotlight or Reverant where not out there, this is a hands down best pic. Brie Larson is incredible in it. It is a movie that actually brings you into what she is going through and makes you pulled in to something so horrible. I will be honest, a few times during it, it brought a tear to me.

Yup, right up until the 'let's put a bomb in the module' part and the 'I'll just rip my suit and fly straight into you' part.... otherwise, pretty cool.  ;D

Yeah this is obviously the big one, but other than that I found it very down to marsearth and not too flashy.

Men,Women and Children (7/10) Surprised it was heavily panned when looking up ratings and reviews. It could've used a bit quicker pace at times but overall I actually enjoyed it.
The Walk (8/10) Excellent movie adaptation of this tight rope walking event. I have to still watch the Man on the wire documentary but this movie was very very well done.
Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (6/10) had some good moments, but felt like any other movie that has this kind of premise.
Minions (4/10) boring. Still can't believe they made an entire movie out of the little guys, I'm sure it made a gazillion dollars though.

It does take a while to get going that one, and it doesn't go all that far once it does anyway.

So, what have you go left to watch?

I think I know that movie word for word, I've seen it so many times.  Some of the best dialogue in any film, ever.

Deadpool.

As a HUGE Deadpool fan. Seriously. Phone background is Deadpool. I've read almost every single Deadpool comic (and his weird spin offs). I have two Deadpool statue/action figures. I have 3-4 Deadpool shirts and tons of Deadpool pins. This movie.....is incredible. Yes, they changed his origin story. Yes they flipped his relationship to the x-men, but with Deadpool, those things can change. They captured his character to a T. The writing is brilliant. Directing is great. Acting is fantastic on all counts. Simple story? Yes. Perfect story? Nah. But jesus did I not care at all. I have not laughed so hard at a movie in a very very long time.

Went to the theaters and saw Zoolander 2 and Deadpool.

I thought Zoolander 2 was pretty good. Of all the comedy sequels made years after the original to come out recently this was the best one IMO.

Deadpool was fantastic.

I dislike Clooney as a person. but somehow love his movies. That plus the great Coen bros made a real funny and good film.

That said, on this cold Jersey day I am doing a Judd Apatow fest (kinda its usually the same crew). Knocked Up, This Is 40, Superbad, and This is the end.

Clooney always seems to do a great job. Did you see the trailer for his new movie in the previews? It looks really good.

Right now, I'm catching up on some New Girl episodes I haven't seen yet, but after that will probably look for a movie to watch. I was thinking of throwing on Burn After Reading again.

I concur. Batman was just...poor.  Even Uma and the cute and lovable Alicia Silverstone as Batgirl could not save that movie. I think Chris O'Donnell was cast perfectly as Robin though.

+1
I've been drinking beer since I was 18 and dabbled since I was 16. I have at least 500 beer bottles in my collection and love the fancy shit though my wallet doesn't. I'll drink liquor not even five times a year including shots or mixed drinks. Jack Daniels and Coke is an easy go-to for me. Very smooth nads candy sweet.

I watched All The President's Men... yeah, the 1976 movie.

Watching House of Cards left me interested in political plotting in the USA so I knew this movie was famous and I watched it. It's good of course, but the ending left me completely puzzled. The movie spends 2 hours in the investigation of the Watergate break-in, and then it ends with them "aiming too high" and naming too soon one of Nixon's inside circle, and therefore jeopardizing the investigation. The movie ends there, they get scolded, Nixon on TV gets sworn in a second time, and then there's a 2 minutes montage of headlines that show that Nixon actually resigned later.

I mean, what??? the investigation should have paid off, not seemingly end bad... make this a work of fiction with no ties to reality, remove the final bit about the headlines of Nixon resigning, and you have a movie of two journalists investigating a scandal and failing in proving it. I expected some more satisfaction from a movie so famous...

I watched both Close Encounters of the Third Kind and E.T. The Extra Terrestrial yesterday.  Haven't seen these in probably 20 years.
