*snip*

It follows just came out on dvd, so I did a re-watch. Still just as decent.

Saw this in theaters back in April and thoroughly enjoyed it; I might have to re-watch this soon myself. Loved the soundtrack.

Yes he is one of them.

Nothing i'm saying is funny SO IF I SHOUT THAT MAKES EVERYTHING FUNNY. ARE YOU LAUGHING YET ?

What bugs me is my group of friends think that Will Ferrell is the funniest man alive, I just don't get it.

I don't get Steve Martin.

He is extremely rarely in a funny comedy. The last one being " Bowfinger ". **

When he is - it's not funny because of Steve Martin. he's just reading / acting what's in the script.

** Which admittedly - he did write but it's a very rare case.

He hasn't had a good film *since* Bowfinger but many good ones beforehand  - like Man With Two Brains and LA Story.

Jim Carrey is the worst. I've never liked any of his comedy movies that rely on him acting wacky in a way that is meant to entertain a toddler. Chris Farley is another one.

Jim Carrey can at least do serious acting though.

He's great in The Truman Show & Man On The Moon.

Finally got around to watching Interstellar! Freaking amazing! Instant top 10 film. Christopher Nolan is far and away my favorite director. The Prestige, Inception, and now Interstellar! The Dark Knight Trilogy was great but those three movies really showcase his brilliance.

Also watched The Illusionist which was way better than I thought it was going to be. Where the hell is Edward Nortan?

And you don't even mention his best movie (Memento)?

I don't like that typical american SCREAMING ALL THE TIME comedy, but I do like Jim Carrey. Probably because I've grown up watching all his stuff. Bruce Almighty is probably one of my favorite comedies, at least top 10 (but then again, I don't watch much comedy).

This. I love the Ace Ventura movies and my favorite comedy of his is Me, Myself, and Irene.

His best movies though are The Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I wish I enjoyed Interstellar that much. I find it really overrated and too ambitious, but hey, what do I know?

If I had to rank Nolan's movies, I'd go:

The Prestige
Memento
The Dark Knight
Batman Begins
Insomnia
Inception
Interstellar
The Dark Knight Rises

I do think Interstellar is a very good movie, I just felt it dragged a little bit.. and *spoilers below*

I think it should have ended right after the book case scene in the black hole. I think him getting out of it and going back to see his daughter as an older woman, then going to find Anne Hathaway was a bit overkill. Maybe I'm just too morbid.  :lol

I don't see how Interstellar is overrated when it received very mixed reviews. Personally I enjoyed it a lot, but Nolan's holy trinity for me remains Memento, The Prestige & Inception.

Well let me elaborate, I guess I find it overrated because the group of friends I hang around praise it to no end. So anytime we talk about movies, I usually hear it get brought up when we talk about the best movies of all time.

I didn't love Memento, however I think I had the twist spoiled for me before I saw it. How is insomnia? I remember watching it when I was younger and don't remember much of it. Worth owning?

I've not seen it either.

Hey All. Just got back from Ant-Man. Really enjoyed it. It's a fun movie. Mike Stoklasa from Half In The Bag said it was like a Rocketeer or a sci fi adventure film from the early 90s.

I agree with that. It was pretty fun. Without being bogged down in existential ennui or hero complex or any of that shit.

Plus it's really funny.

I'd say it's his weakest movie but that's not saying much when you dive it a B+.  All his movies are outstanding.

Wait is that a porno? Or one of those American Pie spinoffs?

I watched Birdman last night. I can definitely see why it won best picture last year. Really well made, I loved how it was filmed. Michael Keaton did outstanding, very fun movie!

How was it?
It was very entertaining, in a weird way.

It was clearly done on a low budget, and with a bunch of (at the time) relatively unknown, though very talented, comedic actors.  I mean, the cast is a who's who.

The storyline was completely ridiculous, yet also grounded in a weird way; set on the last day of a summer camp, there were plenty of things that happened that resonated with my own camp counselor background.

I would encourage anyone who likes silly comedies, teen comedies, or just fans of the actors involved to watch it.

Even more ridiculous - they all reunited for a Netflix prequel series, Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp, which will also add even more stars.  They are all 14 years older in real life, but still portraying those same characters from that same summer.  Should be a riot.

It debuts on Netflix July 31.

I've seen about 15 movies in theaters this year so far, but the most recent ones were Minions, Ant-Man and Trainwreck.

I love Despicable Me 1 and 2, and love the Minions as a character, but they can't stand by themselves as the lead in a movie. Wasn't all that good a movie.

Ant-Man was great breath of fresh in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After the super heavy Age of Ultron, this was more of a light hearted, fun superhero movie. Enjoyed it way more than I was expecting. And that after credits scene  :omg:

Trainwreck was actually a lot funnier than I anticipated. Amy Shumer's kinda hit or miss with me, but this was a great take on a romantic comedy. Who knew LeBron James could act  :lol
