You got me. I dunno. I'll probably remember if you tell me. Gonna stab in the dark...Hitchcock Vertigo :P

I know the sound Bruce makes when he drops to the ocean floor is from Duel..
Yes on Duel.

License plate first 3 numbers are 007. Plate is from Louisiana. The 007 references James Bond, and Spielbergs favorite move at the Time was Live and Let Die. Most of Live and Let Die was filmed in Louisiana

Sheider has always been a bit quiet on that. He doesn't want credit for one of the most iconic lines ever in a movie. But Richard Dreyfuss has been quoted that it was a spur of the moment line by Roy

Was that a real cap or was it cosmetic for the movie ? Although I dunno how they'd make a false "gap" for the film.

I know Jim Carrey busted his tooth before filming Dumb & Dumber and they left it.

Rumor has it that Shaw got in a bar fight a few days before . so his tooth was knocked out. He improvised that scene

Ghost in the shell

I liked it. It was missing a lot of the substance that made the original anime so profound and thought provoking though. Also, mixing a whole bunch of different stories in to one kind of screwed me up because i am used to seeing them individually, but that wouldn't be a problem for anyone naive to the series.

That's definitely the best move. The original is solid, the new one is so-so and could possibly lessen the enjoyment of the original

I saw it many years ago when the BBC did a run of anime.

I saw Akira, Roujin Z, Ghost In The Shell and Patlabor.

Akira is so good obviously. I remember Roujin Z being quite funny.

My friend at the time who was into Anime showed me The Lensman and it was funny how it's supposed to be the future

And everyone is wearing bell bottoms :lol

I've seen the original Ghost in the shell anime and it's awesome and want to see how they adapt it to live action. I haven't seen all the other movies or series so the movie story should be still interesting since they're using only some from the anime.

After re-watching the original Ghost in the shell tonight, I have changed my mind. The new one can go to hell. It removed all the thought provoking elements of the original and made it like a baby's toy. Dumbed down and simple (no offense to babys)

Here is the original ghost in the shell

And the 2017 version

Also, scarlett probably didn't even watch the original because she plays the character so lifeless, stilted, wooden and dull. And the source character was actually very dynamic with layers and a jovial joking side as well. Scarlett plays it like she's miserable and constipated

Anomalisa. It was interesting, the animation was cool to see, and it was relatable in a weird way

This sums up most Hollywood remakes. It's a shame, because they usually strip away many of the defining original traits that would make something stand out, but Hollywood would rather homogenize for a general audience instead.

Caught Beauty and the Beast last night with the fam.

It was certainly a big live musical adaptation of an animated film.

Beauty and the Beast.

Liked it a lot, besides Emma Watson's flat singing voice.

Flat as in slightly lower than proper pitch, or flat as in lacking emotional depth?

This is important.

I can't imagine flat meaning out of tune since I imagine the vocals are produced to within an inch of their lives on movies like that.

Plus isn't it all ADR'd after the fact in a proper studio ? Where they can do multiple takes and vocal tuning and double tracking etc ?

I think her tunes were at times distracting and the autotune showed through. I think to me it didn't sound very natural.

I don't get the hype over her or fanboys drooling over her at ALL.  I mean, I guess she is an OK actress and that's it.

It's the fandom attached to her. Plain and simple. I shouldn't judge. I haven't seen her in anything other than Harry Potter - and that involved as much acting as a Steven Seagal movie.

I understand that there is a fandom.  I just don't get it.

A lot of people think she is super attractive as well, and I don't get that either.

It was a little bit creepy all those blokes saying they couldn't wait for Emma Watson to become old enough when they watched Harry Potter....

Basically, I'd rather watch a movie with attractive people in it than one with ugly people in it.  I think Emma is cute.  She was cute when she was underage, and she's still cute now.  But I can't stand it when they cast people who can't sing in musicals.  Singing out of tune or with weirdass delivery or just singing badly will ruin a movie for me, and I'd rather not see it.

It's not for us to get. Like some people don't "get" Dream Theater, but we do, she must have things about her that keep people glued to the screen. Like I said, I've never seen anything with her besides HP, so I won't judge her acting skills. Her attractiveness is this girl next door look that some people find themselves endeared by. She's cute but I can't think anything more than that because I only know her as some tween witch.

I love that movie. Never realized it was supposed to be a guilty pleasure?

It's weird. I hate golf. But man, I can watch that movie all day.

3rd best golf movie.  Still a great one.  Been years since I've seen it though.

Guilty pleasure meaning it has "cheesy" moments.  But it is a cool movie.

I think Tin Cup may have gotten into the guilty pleasure area for some because it was right around the time it was becoming "cool" to hate on Kevin Costner.  But I always thought the movie was pretty good, and Rene Russo is a babe.

Tin Cup is considered "cheesy" or "a guilty pleasure" because Don Johnson is in it, which makes it those things by default.

Ha ha, I totally forgot about Don Johnson.  Yeah that practically delegitimizes the movie right there, doesn't it?
