Same.

I don't know, guys.  I'm pretty fucking demented, and I also watched a lot of those movies when I was younger.  Coincidence?

"Fine", "demented", it's all relative.

I mean, are you OK with yourself?  If so, you're fine.

And possibly demented.

Perfect Blue. What the actual FUCK. Damn this was demented and surreal but very well-directed. Kinda like a Lynchian style except it's an anime movie and it's not so heavy on the symbology.

Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Good movie. Not nearly as good as the book though.

I think you're the first adult I've heard say anything good about that movie.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.

Inevitabily streamlined from the book (which I read and was quite good), but all in all it was done right. And Eva Green dominates anything she's in.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

Considering his comment was implying a certain maturity level about those who enjoyed the movie, I responded in kind.

It wasn't. I was going to say no one, but I honestly have only heard adults talk about it, and I know it was meant as more of a family type film.

I don't imply insults in my posts unless they're light hearted or in jest.

Also, I don't actually know anyone who saw the movie (at least to my knowledge). I was referring to the multiple reviewers that I regularly watch/read on youtube.

And while I didn't see the movie (or the first one, just not my thing) I did watch the Cinema Sins video on it, and it didn't look too appealing to me.

Oh, I also watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Really really great movie, highly recommended.

The Accountant

Very cool flick. I think at times it takes itself a bit too seriously and the shtick they run with is a bit too much towards the end, those that have seen it can guess what I'm talking about...I get it, and it's a cool message, but a bit much. Other than that, really fun and cool movie, lots of neat exposition and backstory, felt very "full" without getting too wordy or slow.

Also despite J.K. Simmons having a small role, it was an awesome one and is always great to see him.

Pfft. Geek Squad. I applied for a job with them once. I wanted to do some side work. They said I was overqualified and wouldn't be able to pay me what I should be getting. I won't get into my response, but it wasn't very classy.

Eraserhead. Holy shit, that was the most interesting and unusual hour and a half of my short life. A little unsettling, but not terrifying imo - some parts were actually pretty funny. Although I didn't understand lots of the symbolism, I think I got the main theme (fear and difficulties of parenthood). Beautiful b&w photography too.

Day After Tomorrow.

Struck down by a virus most of the weekend, just vegged on the couch.  The film was on and under normal circumstances I would have switched off after about 30 minutes.   But I watched this awful, cliche disaster movie to it's predictable conclusion.   3/10 I guess some, the effects weren't bad.

San Andreas.

Had no idea who this was, had to look it up.  Oh OK she was the daughter, isn't she about 17?  then checked out her wiki and she's 30.  Christ!

The Magnificent Seven (2016)

Pretty bad.  They kept the original concept of seven guys fighting to save a town and tossed everything else.  The assembled crew was so diverse that it was ridiculous.  Their motivations literally boiled down to "I don't have anything better to do, so I'll fight to the death to save some town I've never heard of for a couple bucks."  Plenty of crazy anachronisms, and plenty of just plain stupid stuff.

They took an interesting morality play and turned it into a generic action flick which you have to turn off your brain to enjoy, pretty much destroying the whole point of the movie.

2 spent bullet casings out of 5.  Would not watch again.

Watched Split last night.

It was pretty solid, so I give props to Shyamalan for finally making another enjoyable movie for the first time in a decade. James McAvoy's performance was great, nailing the changing identities down to the slightest facial muscles movements.

Spoiler-ish: I've never watched Unbreakable so maybe the reference is lost on me, but the Bruce Willis cameo at the end, while kinda neat, seemed pretty needless.

Unbreakable was a huge pile of shit.

Not his first either.

M. Night is ridiculously lucky as a film maker. He's survived several flops in a row on the strength of The Sixth Sense.

He really doesn't get the best out of his actors at all. Mostly making them mumble or stare forlornly directly into camera for long periods.

Apparently his previous film was good but i've no interest in seeing it or this.

I will definetely watch Split. I don't know if I'd call myself a Shyamalan fan, but his work intrigues me, so I'll see this new one.

I've never actually seen The Sixth Sense, and by now it's so ruined for me that I don't really care to. Also, I might be alone in this, but I think The Village is his best movie, I loved that.

The Village was really good. I also liked The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable. Signs was good up until the end. "Swing away." Awful ending. The Happening was good, too.
