Red Heat

I was not expecting a great movie, but this was even worse than I expected. Just a mediocre, dull waste of Arnie. I thought it was going to be a mismatched buddy cop comedy, except it lacked any comedy, or any strong development or dynamic between the main characters. There were a couple of half funny lines using the old literal misunderstanding trope, but they could have done so much more with the clash or culture and personality.
There were no well delivered one liners from Arnie, and what little action the movie had was incredibly boring. The climax of the film was a bus being driven badly and then shooting a guy. There was nothing creative or fun or interesting or cool that redeemed the movie. Probably the worst Arnie movie I've seen.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.

Yeah that's a shite movie.  Raw Deal from the same time period is also a dud (It's no Commando/Pred/Termy).  There is one more recentish  one called Collateral Damage that is utterly dreadful too.

I haven't seen either of those, because that's about what I figured. Once it hits the second half of the 90s, Arnie movies just weren't the same imo. True Lies was his last great action movie from what I've seen. Some of the ones after that just blur together in my mind.

Yeah nobody watches Arnie movies for his acting. He just seems like a chill guy in reality and has so much charisma onscreen.

But after he stopped being Governor - he wasn't the same. He was the best thing about Terminator Geni5y5 - and out-charisma'd the awful Jai Courtney.

I may need to watch Red Heat again, because I remember really liking it.  Or maybe I should just leave it at that.

Robocop 2

It gets a lot of shit, and while I will agree that is not as good as the first one, at the same time its not dog shit like part 3.

There's some genuinely funny parts in it and I love Tom Noonan as Kane.

I would still take Robocop 2 or 3 over that reboot from a couple of years ago

I love Robocop 2. The bit with the other Robocop attempts going crazy gets me every time. :lol
Close call between Robocop 3 and the reboot. They're both watered down, forgettable films. Rather than split hairs, I'll just pretend that neither exist.

The reboot isn't bad per se, it kind of just exists. It's not great but I don't find it offensive in any way. Robocop 3 on the other hand is one of the worst things I've ever seen. :lol

I agree on the reboot. It's just so redundant and pointless, and misses the point about what made the original work. It's just there.
Robocop 3 was bad and silly, although I wouldn't go as far as to say it's one of the worst movies I've seen. I've seen far too many bad movies for it to be in the running there. :lol

The Green Room

JESUS FUCKING CUPCAKE CHRIST

Fine. I didn't need to sleep anyway. Fucking assholes. GOD DAMN IT.

I seriously feel violated. Like I need to take a shower and remember that there are such things as Pokemon and happiness and peanut M&Ms. Fuck.

That was one of the most horrific, crushing, breath-stealing, skull-cracking films I've ever seen. I need to cuddle...jesus...

Made even more horrific watching Anton Yelchin in such a wonderful performance right before his own pretty horrible death.

The other robocop prototypes are great, especially the one that immediately commits suicide.

One of my very favorite scenes is when OCP focus tests robocop by committee and he turns into a weird Tipper gore's wet dream of political correctness. And then he's holding the guy and scolding him despite the guy being dead from a bullet in the head  :lol

And the mayor, who has no power, but is always losing his shit at that fact. I love it

I dunno why but man, that hit me hard. I think it's because I wasn't expecting it in any way, shape or form. I knew nothing about the movie.

It's like I walked into Cannibal Holocaust or The Green Inferno and someone was like "Oh yeah man, it's like a little violent but it's mostly chill". I mean I knew zero about it and just figured it was a typical action thriller with "some violence".

All in all, yeah not bad at all, especially in comparison to the aforementioned movies, which didn't hit me nearly as hard cause I knew what I was walking into. (Plus I really like Anton Yelchin)

When I first saw the film Seven in theaters, I went in totally blind with no knowledge whatsoever, and it absolutely floored me.  So I can definitely relate.

I feel like most Coen brothers movies don't really have a point.
That probably explains why I didn't like The Big Lebowski :P

George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead (2007):

Didn't like this the first time I watched it back when it came out, so I decided to rewatch it today to see if I'd like it more, but I liked it even less. It's poorly made, the acting is terrible, the way the characters act is totally unbelievable, not a single character is likeable, so I didn't care about any of them and some scenes are just cringeworthy. Some reviews say "atleast it has a lot of gore" Well, the gore is CG and it looks like crap, so it's not a good thing. I'd take no gore over crappy CG gore. Anyway, I didn't get any enjoyment out of it. 2/10 The movie Romero made after it (Survival of the Dead) is even worse. Such a shame considering he made 3 of the best zombie movies ever (Dawn of the Dead is actually my favorite movie). Sorry for the rant, this shitty movie ruined my night.

I should add that this video randomly popped up on youtube which is why I ended up rewatching the movie
