I think the problem with special effects is that a lot of movies use too much of it. I think there is a perfect balance of practical and CGI, but a lot of movies seem to ignore the practical side and make it easier for themselves. Just compare the original Jurassic Park with Jurassic Park 3. The original still looks better.

And Jurassic World will look worse too.
