I did send Marco already PM but no reaction. Very strange, because he normally responds very fast.

Hey... I don't know if you're still going ahead with this, but, although I wouldn't be able to give $50 per month, I would be able to give a bit of money when possible, like wasteland, I'm a student, so income is minimal, however, I'm willing to put some money towards it if it will actually be useable and won't be down >60% of the time I go to use it!

It's usually up (although it's down until October) and ideally everyone should be paying a very small monthly sum voluntarily.

Also, I'm sorely disappointed in the fact that the downtime message doesn't say "We'll meet again my friend.... Someday sooooooooon..."

So I'm a bit confused; do I need to pay money to get access to the bootlegs?

No, it's just that the hub is currently closed. However, it's customary to donate occasionally to offset the running costs if you use it.

Yeah I meant when it's not closed. So I don't have to?

No, but you should. I donated once but should've done it a lot more considering how much I used it. If the donations are short at the end of the month it gets shutdown, and if there are issues with donations being continually short or from the same couple people it will get restricted to active donors.

It will be open when it opens. And you actually did not ask, you demanded bootlegs.

Well you're a needy prick aren't you
The hub generously run by a well-respected member in his own free time will be reopened when he finds the time to do so after his long move across the country.

The hub will eventually re open and even though I am not aware of a date I believe it will be before year's end.

It could have stayed open all along, but unfortunately, as I was as well going through a time of logistic changes, I couldn't provide a 24/7 running machine to supply for Weymolith's absence.

I don't think it has been back up since Wey originally closed it down.
I do miss it, like having lost a friend.

Maybe once he gets settled in again, I'll shoot him an email and see if he wants to resurrect it.  I was always happy to chip in to pay for the expenses.

I am too waiting for it to come back and still paying my 13€/month to keep my seedbox account alive for the day the hub will rise again!

Hi, I've only just joined this forum and am interested in the DC++ hub, I'd be more than willing to contribute $5 a month to gain access, so whoever is taking names please put mine down.

The Hub is currently in transition as I've moved and have yet to set up the server machine.

I found a stable version of DC to use in Linux so I've been on it for  the last few weeks in the Echoes Hub and Iron Maiden hub.

Whatever you need, if you do need anything, let me know.

So that sounds like the Hub is going to get a comeback. I`m new to all that stuff, but I`d be really interested in the Hub and might donate some money from time to time.

Is a decent upstream connection needed to host a Hub? A decent machine? Any cost besides electricity and a standard internet connection? If Wey is going to be down for a while longer then maybe I can help...

I'm not sure if you saw the post on the GDT site but he is aiming for July to put a new release out.  That's not too far away.  Maybe the resurrection of hub will also be considered.

Ah okay. I don't have a GDT account on account of my age.
