Off the top of my head I remember reading somewhere and sometime that they knew they were gonna finish with season 6.

Yep, it was confirmed that there will be a Season 6 and that it will be the final season.

I find it strange that they announced that Dean Norris and Robert Forster would be making appearances in Season 5. Would have been a lot cooler to see them show up suddenly, to where as now we know we are going to see them at some point, so the surprise factor is gone. Maybe they are trying to get some buzz going given that it's been like 8 years since the last season.

Indeed. It's not that the show sucks and they need to desperately convince people to give it another shot by name-dropping BB actors.

Perhaps, but I am sure by now they are aware that the buzz around the show isn't nearly what they hoped it would be. Coming off of the success of Breaking Bad, it's like coming out at halftime in football with a 21-0 lead, and while I can't say they fumbled the lead away, they sure haven't taken advantage of it. I have no idea what the ratings are, but of the dozen or so people I know (family, friends, co-workers) who were all-in on it at the start, about half have given up watching it because they were so bored by it, and the other half have the stance I do, in that it isn't that great, but we are too invested to stop now. With only two seasons left, might as well watch till the end.

BCS is as every bit as good as BB.....just as well written......personally I like it better than BB as I’m more impressed by this casts acting than the whole of BB’s

I dunno what the general consensus on this show is 'cause at least online the reviews and buzz are pretty good... I personally think it's just as good as BB in a lot of ways. It's a different animal, though. It's much more of a slow burn. Regardless of how much the masses enjoy it, I think it's fantastic.

So, I'm a couple episodes into season 4. This show has gotten better with each passing season. I love how it's kind of transitioned into a Breaking Bad prequel. I mean, I guess it was like that being Saul and all, but seeing the early stuff with Gus and the Salamancas has been awesome. I didn't think we'd get so deep into that story. I have no complaints.

So unfortunately it's still a pain in the ass. Netflix probably won't get season 5 for another year and a half til season 6 gets ready to start which is absurd. I used AMC's live feature on their website to watch when they premiered, until they disabled it about 2 episodes before the end of season 4.

Guess I'll be watching the premiere tomorrow via AMC's website (you can watch the day after the premiere there).

The Gene scene at the beginning was great, so of course they probably get back to that until the next season.

Overall, a very good episode. I am bored with most Jimmy scenes at this point, but want to see what happens with Kim, and how this plays out with Mike and Gus should be good given that we know the nature of their working relationship by the time they get to the BB years.

Watched both new episodes this evening. Man, it feels like forever since Saul was on! That was a great two hours for me. Nacho is a total badass. I love how Jimmy has fully embraced the Saul personality now. Feels great to have it back!

I was a little annoyed when I started episode 1. On AMC's player, it said it was an hour and 45 minutes long. I couldn't believe it, nearly a two-hour premier and then a second episode! Three hours of Saul! Except... they just bundled an episode of some other show along with it. Way to blue balls me, AMC. Serves me right for being naive though I suppose

I miss so much of the fun of the first couple of seasons. Certainly getting 'darker', but it is quite the improvement from last year. More scenes, and much more dialogue.
