I've never been as much of a fan of this album as I am of the 3 preceding it, I just think they do their earlier style better and I prefer it. The best individual songs on this album don't come close to matching the top tier stuff from their earlier efforts either. Still a solid album though.

Hey guys, for Load, ReLoad and St. Anger...I don't exactly know the songs enough to rank them.  What I'm going to do is just list my favorites and the other ones I at least listen to occasionally.  On Load, I only like about 4 songs, ReLoad I know a little more of, but for St. Anger I only like 1 song.

So if you guys would rather just list your favorites, or comment on which songs you like/dislike for those next few albums, I'm down with that.  We can just talk about underrated songs and just the album in general, instead of doing an entire ranking for each.  I know I'm not the only one on here who doesn't even know 90% of the songs on those albums.

From Hetfield, his followers, and everyone putting it on the ass end of a rank list. I always see that song get shit. Same with Escape, but of course, there are exceptions. The Frayed Ends of Sanity is another one. That song rocks, but a lot of people don't seem to like it for some reason.

RTL is my 2nd favourite Metallica album - more refined than KEA, but not quite as good as MOP. Great tracks all the way through, only the bottom 2 are a little bit weak, but still enjoyable. Creeping Death has always been my favourite, but positions 2-5 are all brilliant songs too, I could rank them differently depending on my mood.

I'll name some bloody Load songs I like.  Wasting My Hate, King Nothing, Ronnie, and Until It Sleeps.  Those songs are not that bad honestly.

I have Load around here somewhere but TBA is the last album I really took proper notice of.  I remember when it came out and all the Metallica fans were up in arms at it being a sellout but it's funny how many have now come around given the path things took afterwards.

I think I like Holier Than Thou better than most.  In general there isn't a track I intensely dislike on TBA - it's all pretty good. Probably equal second with RTL , with Master of Puppets my clear favourite.

Tread bores the shit outta me and the solo sounds goofy for the first third or so.

I think most of Hammett's solos are goofy.

^ Pretty good Load ranking. Wasting My Hate needs to be played live more and Outlaw is not only the best song from The Load / Reload sessions but might be the best Metallica song full stop.

The S&M Version is something else as well.

Looking at the tracklisting for Load its hard to see why people would give it so much hate.  Yeah, its a completely different band to KEA, RTL etc, but its still an awesome collection of songs, regardless.
