Which "Octavarium" track do you favor over all of the others?

This Album seems to be another "comeback" for them.

At least a lot of you seem to STRONGLY prefer it over ToT.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Panic Attack cause it's awesome and doesn't stand a chance against the beast of an epic anyway. Octavarium is something they put a lot of effort into considering what went into composing and working in all the references not only to prog rock in general, but to the other album songs on the different 'steps' (keys) of of the 'Octavarium and.. all of the mcnuggetz everywhere. Even objectively speaking, it's composition is genius. Whether that translates to an appealing or emotionally relate-able experience is a different matter.

Octavarium is my favorite Dream Theater song. I love this album and Panic Attack was my introduction to the band, but the title track is miles ahead of the other songs in every possible category.

While I'm not really all that surprised at how this is going, I thought TRoAE would get more votes.
I also think SS is a stand-out track, and TW and PA are pretty good, too.

I think the lack of votes on those other songs says more about the title track than it does about the songs in question. Without being compared to Octavarium I'm sure it'd be more balanced out.  :xbones

I would probably consider Octavarium the best on the album, because the more I analyze it, the more I appreciate how great it is, and how much thought went into it.
But to be honest, I think These Walls is probably my favourite, so that's what I voted for. One of DT's best shorter structured songs, very tasteful and melodic, and so catchy.

The title track is an undisputed masterpiece for me. Unfortunately,  most of the rest of the disc is fairly tame and commercial sounding by DT standards and doesn't do much for me.

I really like this album.  These Walls is a solid runner up, but you can't beat the title track.

Same here. Except the Peruvian Skies thing, that song instantly clicked with me.

The problem with Peruvian Skies is that I fell in love immediately with ToT and LiTS that it fell off the radar.
