Another poll that's had a LOT of surprises:

"Endless Sacrifice" has gotten a lot of negative postings on this forum in the past, so I'm surprised to see it getting as much "love" as it is here.

MY pick of "As I am" is WAY behind. I thought it would be in second or third place, depending on how many votes were cast for "This Dying Soul," also a surprisingly unpopular song.

It didn't really surprise me all that "In the name of God" is "winning," given the poularity of  DT's longer songs.

I like "Honor Thy Father," but COME ON!
MORE votes than AIA?
REALLY???

Also surprising that "Stream of Consciousness" has gotten as many votes as it has, AGAIN because there have been so many negative-or at least less than positive-postings about it on the forum.

I haven't noticed much negativity towards SoC or TDS.

Just because something isn't getting a lot of votes doesn't necessarily mean it isn't popular. If TDS was everybody's second favourite from this album, you wouldn't know it as you can only vote for one song.

Surprising? Endless Sacrifice and SoC always were, along ItNoG, the most liked songs from ToT.

I picked Honor thy Father because the intro... is... nasty.   :metal And I generally really like the riffing - I feel like it fits the sound that JP went for on the album.

I guess you meant: "what song do you like more from ToT".. In my case, besides being THE album, I have a quadruple tie: TDS, ES, SoC and ItNoG..

Voted for This Dying Soul anyway.. Endless Sacrifice it just has everything I like from DT, SoC it's their second best instrumental, behind TDoE (:hefdaddy), and ItNoG it's the "short" epic one, very heavy, very diverse aswell.. TDS, I think this is the song from the band with which I identify most.. I just LOVE it.. Can't explain much about it.. THAT riff, those vocal melodies and lyrics, the "Now that you can see all you have done" part, those transitions!.. And, unlike most of DT fans, I do like the final part..

This album is always in my top three DT Albums. I remember the day it came out I had to work and only got to listen to it late that night. I was completely blown away at how heavy it was and I listened to it three times before going to sleep that night. I love all the songs This Dying Soul is my favorite. Such a riff fest and I love all the parts including the ending. This song has been and I am sure will always be my favorite from this album.

I decided for Honor Thy Father. This mid-part with the movie samples is just to great to ignore it. It`s probably one of my favourite DT parts ever.

Like everything except Honor Thy Father and Vacant, both of which are in Systematic Chaos territory as far as my preferences are concerned.

Actually, if you swapped those two and gave me back Constant Motion, Repentance and Prophets of War, I may never need to pick up Systematic Chaos again (except to look at the artwork.)

Anyways, ITNOG is one of my absolute favorite DT songs. I'd put it 2nd or 3rd.
