In the last round of Visions, the title-track was voted the best of the album (to no-one's surprise, I suppose). We continue with The Mountain. Top three goes to the Finals, while the song placed fourth will go to Consolation to join Drowning in the Flood and Shapeshifter.

48 Hours to vote in this first round.

This is going to be really tough, because this is one of those albums for me where every track is top-notch. I think just by default for me it's between The Path and As Death Embraces, because even though they're not significantly less good than the other tracks, they're simpler and so perhaps not as rewarding(?).

I'm going to vote As Death Embraces right now, because I think that's the one I would miss least if it were to suddenly pop out of existence.

Gaah, this is impossible. Their best album so far, hands down.

As Death Embraces is beautiful.

I voted Somebody. Least memorable track on this album for me (and possibly my least favourite Haken track). While The Mountain is definitely a good album, it would rank last for me behind Visions and Aquarius.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I voted Somebody. (and possibly my least favourite Haken track).

How is that even possible?

That's kinda how I feel, but I went with The Path.

BTW, anybody have the 2 bonus tracks on this album?  The Path Unbeaten and Nobody?  They are basically renditions of The Path and Somebody.  Just curious...

Anyway, there's not one bad song on this album but gotta start somewhere.

As Death Embraces I suppose.  :-\  Still a great ballad.

yeah there's not anything here I dislike. In Memoriam is the least strong to me personally but I wouldn't miss The Path or As Death Embraces over it.

Pretty much this.

As Death Embraces is a beautiful song, but something has to come in last place, and I really can't imagine putting anything else on this album in last place.
Sincerely,
Jaffa

I voted Somebody because it just seems to go on for too long and it doesn't seem to have a purpose in continuing and repeating itself. It could be 3 mins shorter in my opinion. I don't think what I'm saying is anti-prog.

I voted The Path, but this album is one of the most consistent and greatest albums ever, so naturally even this song is amazing.
