Porcupine Tree Survivor - Up the Downstair - Round 1

Up the Downstair (1993) was the first proper Porcupine Tree album (OTSOL being a compilation of early tape recordings), with guest musicians that would become full-time PT band members.

On a personal note, Synesthesia was the very first PT song I ever heard, so this album holds some significance for me.

As with the other albums, Top 2 will go to Finals, 3rd to Consolation.

Track 1. It's a short little intro thing, but not really music. They'd do the same thing again on Signify, but I like this one better than "Bornlivedie". Still my least favorite of the album, though. Round 2 is where the survivor REALLY starts, then, in that sense.

My thoughts exactly. But yeah, the intro. I also really like this album. Surprisingly, I would say it's a top3 PT album in terms of flow and overall execution. I would say even better than albums like In Absentia or Deadwing when it comes to the flow of it. (the quality of the individual songs themselves is another topic)
