Unlimited Resonance
« on: October 21, 2014, 06:12:18 PM »
This show probably won't "resonate" with a lot of people because it's based around the "Falling Into Infinity" disc, which is somewhat unpopular with a lot of DT fans.
But I DO like that album, and wanted to put together a set list that featured it as well as a decent variety of songs from the first three albums.
Hope you like what I came up with.

Set 1:
1) Burning My Soul
2) Metropolis
3) Hell's Kitchen
4) Lie
5) You Not Me
6) Caught in a Web
7) YtseJam
8) Space-Dye Vest
9) The Silent Man
10) Wait for Sleep
11) Keyboard/Piano Solo
12) Lines in the Sand
13) Pull Me Under

Set 2:
1) Peruvian Skies
LiveTime Version.
2) Scarred
full-length album version.
3) Just Let Me Breathe
4) Bombay Vindaloo
Yes, I'm bringing this one back!
5) Surrounded
6) Hollow Years
Back to the album version.
7) Afterlife
8) Trial of Tears
LiveTime version.
9) New Millennium
Encore:
10) 6:00

That was the ORIGINAL version of my idea for "Retro FII"
I did, however work out an "alternative" version that might be even better...

Set 1:
1) Burning My Soul
2) Lie
3) Take Away My Pain
4) Surrounded
5) You Not Me
6) YtseJam
7) A Change of Seasons
The inclusion of this song is a drastic change from the other version, and I wanted to put it where it is so anyone who's not familier with the band would get a taste of thier other albums, and then this one could be closer to the "Middle" of the show, and most of the longer FII songs could be in the second set.
8) Hell's Kitchen
I think it's in a better place in the show, instead of being right at the beginning.
9) Voices
10) Peruvian Skies

Set 2:
1) Lines in the Sand
2) Metropolis
3) Just Let Me Breathe
4) Only a Matter of Time
5) Hollow Years
6) The Silent Man
Back to it's original form. Maybe 5 & 6 could even be "unplugged."
7) Trial of Tears
8) Under a Glass Moon
9) New Millennium
Encore:
10) A Fortune in Lies
I don't think they've ever done a "Dream and Day" song for an encore, at least since the early days.

The reason a lot of these songs are ending up where they do is because I'm trying to "rotate" them as much as possible so we don't end up with the same ones over and over again in every set. Especially the OLDER songs.

I can't stop the world from turning around, or the pull of the moon on the tide, but I don't believe that we're in this alone, I believe we're along for the ride...
