Ok man. With "anything", i honestly thought you meant "anything within the rap genre" while, as a matter of fact, it was about all sorts of media in general. Just a little misunderstand then, sorry for making these accusations
Changing subjects: Like you said, you didn't liked Shadow, that's fine. I argue that judging his music only by one song is lame but, to each their own. One thing i just don't think it's fine it's the way you call what you don't like: "garbage", "disgusting" rap song, etcetera. Bashing things in a forum isn't nice (rarely i see people bashing what they don't like here in DTF, at least).
Also, about that old discussion, I didn't tried to convert you since there's no need to be a fan of any genre to recognize talent on it but, sadly, it looks like you're pretty much biased against rap beyond reason. My point wasn't making you enjoy rap, just showing that there is tons of well thought music on it as well just like any other genre. You tried to like that song i sent, this isn't what i wanted.
I wanted to make you think and understand how that song was crafted so you could see the creativity that went down in order to creating it, something that could make you respect the genre even if you hate the sound of it but it seems putting bias aside and doing that is a bit difficult for you, my friend

I think a lot of your anger and frustration comes from the general attitude you're getting on here, especially about rap, and not just from me.
Kowtowboy, among others, has said some things that were just as HARSH as what I said, if not more so.
But I do agree that me using the word garbage was maybe going a little too far.
However, when you originally asked me to listen to that "song" it was because I supposed to hear something DIFFERENT that was supposed to change my mind about rap.
NOW you're telling me not to judge by one song, even though it was the song you wanted me to hear.
And when I talk about lack of originality, a good example would be how in some books I recently read the authors talk about how movie-makers take bits and pieces of one type of movie and put them into their own in a effort to appear more "creative." I believe it's called "genre-blending."
in RAP they call it "sampling."
As for "the creativity that goes down:" No matter what you do, or how well you DO it, you're NEVER going to please EVERYBODY.
There will ALWAYS be people who hate DT, no matter how good WE might think they are, and matter how many different kinds of music they play. There will ALWAYS be someone to find fault, no matter WHAT they do!
