New Demians album "Mercury" available for pre-order!
« on: October 09, 2014, 09:35:29 AM »
Both Demians albums "Building an Empire" and "Mute" were astonishing back to back albums. Check them out if you haven't

Seems like it's an independent do it yourself release

Great news indeed! Would love to get the vinyl, but the shipping costs make me hesitate (10.80 Euro from France to Germany)...

What he is doing is understandable, but shipping international is the only thing that sucks. If I were in France it would be LP no question, but that is $32 euro with shipping. Even the CD is about 20 euro ($25). That's $10 more than I typically allow myself to pay for a single disc, but I'll make an exception for this.

Sorry for the bump but I've been listening to their albums this past week....too bad Nicolas didn't continue this band. Building an Empire is a must have.

It definitely is a must have.  I can't believe he recorded it in his house.

I still contend my favorite thing he's done was the Silent Ceremony stuff (specifically "Chapel"), and would love for that to receive a more proper release (even if it's just digital).

Where can I find this?

There's two more albums after Mute: Mercury and Battles.

Sorry about the bump with no Demians news but I've been playing Nic's 4 albums and I forgotten how great they are.

Sorry about the bump with no Demians news but I've been playing Nic's 4 albums and I forgotten how great they are.
I never picked up the last two - how do they measure up to the first two? I really liked Building an Empire, but the second one didn't grab me as much. Probably need to give it some spins again and see if it clicks more. In any case, it looks like the website no longer exists, so I assume I won't be able to pick them up, even if I wanted to.

Funny side note: I actually met him before the 2007 show in Holmdel, NJ and hooked him up with an aftershow pass so he could give MP a copy of Building an Empire before it had been released. I had no idea that his album would be that impressive until I picked up an official copy of it - just thought it would be some typical garage band quality demo and nothing more. I guess I was wrong!   :rollin
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I think he is selling the CDs directly on his FB. Message him directly and see what Nic says.

The latest two albums are more in the vein of Mute (the 2nd one). More guitar driven albums...I actually rankthem chronologically, being Building an Empire my favorite.

1 - Building an Empire
2 - Mute
3 - Mercury
4 - Battles
