Pretty cool video. I love stuff like this. Same with I&W influencing ADTOE here and there. Not a bad thing, just fascinating stuff.

Wow some of these are incredible!

I did not know about a lot of these, as I am not a huge Rush or Pink Floyd fan.

Thanks for sharing

  • Pointing out the "unfunny" since 2014!

I liked the audio; there were some parts I knew, and some I didn't, and some that felt achingly familiar and now I know why!

I could have done without some of the not-that-funny subtitles.

Basically this. I didn't find all this, uhm, different album names incredibly amusing. However, the audio references were pretty cool.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Here's part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GDfAfY_r30

Which reminded me of bosk1's comment and I had the funny feeling that one of the most iconic DT riffs might have been lifted:
Was just thinking about this on the drive in this morning.  Which riffs do you think are true standout all-time-great riffs that you would put in the metal riff hall of fame, if there were such a thing?

One standout to me is the:
  dugga-dugga-dun, da-dun-da-dun
  dugga-dugga-dun, da-dun-da-dun, WEEEEEEEEEE!
riff.  I mean, really, when a riff is so distinctive that you can type it out like I just did without listing the song, and probably 95% of the fanbase is going to recognize it on that basis alone, it's a classic in my book.

So what are some of yours?

Sycsa is perhaps the most brilliant and insightful man I have ever encountered.

Fire Garden Suite with MM! Hahaha

The Muse mashup is awesome. I hope they play Never Enough in the next tour.  :lol

The Never Enough/Stockholm Syndrome mashup was incredible. Unlike a lot of Dream Theater fans, I really like Never Enough and think it's a Top 25 DT song and I have been getting into Muse more lately (I have always liked them but never listened to them that much). Videos like this are interesting because you can get an idea of what the band was thinking about musically and listening to at the time. The guy said he's looking for more stuff to make a part 3. I hope he finds it because I enjoyed both videos immensely.
