Prog/Metal Vocal Showdown #31: Kürsch vs Swanö

I'm not deep into Swanö's work, really only knowing him from Star One.  I tried one of his solo albums once, and totally dug the music, but couldn't get into his own vocal delivery.  Kürsch has a very distinctive sound, but Blind Guardian is one power band I just never latched on to.  I have quite a few of their albums, but something just doesn't click.

Still, if I had to just have one, I like Hansi's voice better.

I've liked some of Swano's work - not the growly stuff, Nightingale and Odyssey mainly - and realise he's a talented guy who can turn his hand to pretty much anything. Hansi is more of a one trick pony and I was put off listening to BG back in the day because I heard one song and didn't like his voice. 

Out of the two I'm far more likely to listen to BG so Hansi gets the vote, even if only for

"CRY FOR TANELORN!".

And then there is And Then There Was Silence.

What a super hard matchup for me.  Both incredible, but I think Hansi just edges this one.

I know Swanö mainly from Star One but I liked what I heard. Blind Guardian on the other hand is one band I never could listen to because of the vocals, so Swanö all the way.
