Meh. I usually like Cracked, and I usually like it when they get satirical, but that wasn't really very funny.

I'm with Scorpion. It's a cool mention and a decent concept for an article, but it wasn't very well executed. As I read that, I kept thinking about how much Cracked has gone downhill within the past year or so. Just not as good as they used to be. I miss the days of getting Seanbaby and outlandish Chris Buchholz articles on the regular.

Yeah, Chris Buchholz is pretty much the only Cracked writer where I can be sure that I'll end up loving his articles. The others have quite a few brilliant articles, but many a dud as well.

The thing is, these days, Buchholz is writing a lot of their more vanilla articles, too, in addition to the outlandish "So You..." ones and his other absurdist articles. The writing on those is still probably a cut above your standard modern Cracked writer, but not laugh-out-loud hilarious. But he and Robert Evans (just because he does the experience ones and those tend to be interesting) are the only current regulars who I will always read. Meanwhile on the rare occasion when a new Seanbaby article comes out I get quite excited.

Yeah, as cool as it is to have one of Cracked's list items be about DT, it's just sort of a shitty article.  One of the worst pieces of writing I've ever seen on Cracked, actually.

Should be noted that number one on that list is "Pretty Much All of Heathen" By David Bowie. And who is credited as playing keys on that album... a Mr. Jordan Rudess.

Coincidence... conspiracy.

"Six Degrees" came out in '02.

So how the HELL could "The Great Debate" be "predicting" an event that already happened?

I can only think that during the recording process they had to change the name of the song because of 9/11.  I was going through chemo at the time and was working 1/2 days and stopped before work to pick it up.  That album got me through rough times.

While Six Degrees was released in 2002, all the songs were pretty much written and recorded before 9/11.

^^ correct ^^ As absurd as the article is, I believe it mentions that the song was written in the summer of '01.

I don't know if the album was recorded BEFORE the World Trade Center was destroyed.
But I DO remember hearing that LIVE SCENES was released on the DAY OF.
So that would have to mean that they were already in the studio putting the new songs-including TGD-BEFORE the "infamous" album cover featuring the apple and the twin towers surrounded in flames was finished and released.
I'm not saying anyone is wrong, I'm just questioning the timing.
Also, I don't mean to reopen old wounds, but I thank GOD that I have a copy-though badly worn-of LIVE SCENES with the original cover, because I think what they replaced it with is REALLY UGLY.

It just means they were recording a new album during the time off after performing the Live Scenes show, and the release window for both were just further down the track.

I've checked the dates to confirm.

Taken from the Wikipedia:
Live Scenes from New York
Released   September 11, 2001
Recorded   August 30, 2000

Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
Released   January 29, 2002
Recorded   March 12 – August 2001

All adds ups I think.

Read any of the other entries?  I thought there was some funny stuff in there:

"Keep it in your pants until the nation has finished mourning (or started mourning, then finished)".

How they keep referring to Dave Matthews as if his last name really is "Band".   As in "Dave Matthews-Band".

"Yep, the track "September" by the band I Am the World Trade Center, released in July 2001, is the 11th track of the album. As in, "September 11th." As in "we are abhorrent, irredeemable pigs.""

"Everything in Bowie's oeuvre has a double meaning".

How he used some of the cheesiest examples of McCartney's catalogue as the bellweather for greatness was funny, too.

It's funny that they completely failed to mention like every song off of System of a Down's Toxicity. (fantastic album and band btw  :metal)

Jet Pilot - "Wired were the eyes of a horse on a jet pilot, one that smiled when he flew over the bay" and "His, his remorse, was that he couldn't survey the skies, right before, right before they went gray"

Chop Suey! - "Trust in my self righteous suicide"

Aerials - "Aerials in the sky, when you lose small mind you free your life"

Plus they have a song called ATWA (which stands for Air, Trees, Water, Animals) - Ali Atwa is a terrorist that tried to hijack a plane.

Plus the album released a week before the attack... and they're middle eastern, which everyone decided was a big deal when it clearly has nothing to do with anything at all.
Check out the latest concept album “III: The Sparrow & The Architect”, released under my project The Circle of Wonders:

I guess this is something a lot of people don't think about.

That a band would be recording a new album while waiting on the record company to put out the live album.

I ALSO don't remember that the period of time between the release of LIVE SCENES and SIX DEGREES was so SHORT! Only about FOUR MONTHS!

IT might also be worth pointing out that MOST or ALL of the songs that you people have been talking about were written and released within a YEAR before 9/11! Almost like SOMEBODY knew SOMETHING, and had LEAKED some INFORMATION!
I hate to sound like a conspiracy nut, but I find it VERY hard to believe that it's all just one big COINCIDENCE!!!

I like how he checked with Yahoo Answers and found out Bush was president from 2001-2008

So apparently the president serves one seven-year term...or maybe its two three and one half year terms

I'm going to have to ask Yahoo Answers to find out

Dream Theater caused 9/11 to happen.  They put out a cover as a message to the illuminati and the lizard people that the deed was done.  The cover was recalled, but the message was sent.
