A mega collection of bootlegs
« on: August 27, 2014, 09:44:09 AM »
I found a collection of 100GBs with of Bootlegs from 93-(I think)2011 on TPB. All FLAC files (lossless) I'm trying to download them, but its  going to take a week, due to it being a MONSTER! I was wondering if anyone had ever seen this DL before or can confirm if it is genuine or not?
Thanks
(P.S, if anybody wants to, some seeds would be nice. (It currently stands at 6 seeders  :lol))

I may have seen it some 5 years ago. I aborted the download after realizing It would take months to complete. Do you have a sort of list of the bootlegs involved?

Could you post the link to the torrent page? There's one or two bootlegs I might have lost and I would like to have them again.

A good chunk of torrent software allows you to select what exactly you're torrenting, so you can remove everything you don't want and pick what you do want.

Yes, that's exactly what I am going to do! They would likely amount to one or two GB, so at most it'd take two days.

By the way, I'm interested in Uncovered and Nighttown Nostalgia. I strongly encourage every DT fan to lay their hands on those two bootlegs.

Fair enough. If transmission for mac lets you select what you're downloading, I'll download the ones I want (Nighttown Nostalgia was definitely one of them!)
BTW, do you know any other good places for bootlegs while the DTHub (or at least the forums) are down?

I actually downloaded that a while back, it was definitely worth the long wait. I'll probably start seeding it again when I get home.

I think that's a similar or perhaps exact torrent I got a fair while ago.

It's legit for sure, and there's very cool stuff in there, but bloody good luck filtering through it all though as that list is a bit intimidating. Some of it's of significantly better quality than others, and there's probably hours upon days worth of footage to listen to. ;)

Edit: Btw, never pay attention to ETA for torrents, all it takes is the right seeder to come on and boom, huge chunk of download happens out of nowhere.

Hey guys.
A word of advice on this collection:

- Run the checksum files (md5/ffp) to verify the files' integrity.
- Check for possible lossy-sourced files (just download Trader's Little Helper).

Holy shit.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

Just so you know the boot entitled "A Sort of Homecoming" has a far more listenable sibling. I think it's called "A Sense of New Beginnings" or something. I can try to post it somewhere if you guys want it.

I would be interested.  The boot of "A Sort of Homecoming" was decent so if it has a better "sibling" that would be great!

This...

...and also.  Check to make sure the boots are labeled correctly. I don't recall which ones but I remember a few having Title A but the track listing was for a boot from a different source named Title B.

Don't torrents automatically verify? The first sign of my bad HDD was that a torrent I was downloading into previously unused space failed a CRC check.

Been in so many forums that ban people for posting in old threads that it wouldn't be a surprise if they did.

It's the opposite here. The mods would rather see you rekindle an old thread as opposed to start a thread on a topic that has about a dozen threads already.  :lol
