Okay... the teams from last year have been deleted, so there's room for new people to join. However, anyone that played last year who wants to play again still can, though you'll have to re-register.

We now have 9 participants. If we still have an odd number tomorrow night, then we won't be allowed to draft. So hopefully 1 or 3 more people sign up (but not 2).

DoC, I know it is short notice, but is there any way we can move the draft to a different night? Wednesdays simply do not work for me. If you do not want to, or if that screws other people up, just leave it as is and I can just rank my players and let it autodraft for me. That is not a problem. But just thought I'd ask.

Question or more of a "do you think this would work" type thing.

I'm in a couple suicide pools. They work differently.

The one I'm asking about works like this.
Each week you pick one game. You're picking (obviously) one team to win. And one team to lose. You can't pick the same team again to win or lose.
If you make the correct call, you win a point. Every time you pick incorrectly you have to pay another 2$ to stay in. Last year everybody paid and I think the winner had missed 3 times.

My thought is this. If I'm presented in a certain week with an impossible match up for a shit team. And pretty much a guaranteed win for their opponent should I not miss it on purpose.

Lets say week 2 there's a Cleveland Brown v. New England game. I'm wondering if (in this type of pool) it might not be such a bad idea to miss on purpose. I'll take Cleveland to win - Pats to lose. The opposite outcome happens. BUT - I never have to take Cleveland to win again (tricky sometimes if I leave them late in the pool) and I can also don't have to try and figure out when the Pats might lose.

am I being clear here ?

Sounds like a complicated game to manage ... In the sense that in the later weeks, what if there is no game featuring teams you haven't already picked? If by week 16, the only two teams you haven't used are CLE and NE, what if they aren't playing each other?

WHEW.... I thought I was free tonight, but then my wife reminded me that we have to take my MIL to the eye doctor...so I was logging on to say that I was going to be an auto-draft. But it looks like I'm saved. Monday will be awesome.

Ah crap... is it gonna be cancelled if we don't get it? Maybe someone could just sign up to fill the spot even if they aren't going to participate. If worse comes to worst, I could get jingle.son to sign up with his Yahoo id, just so we've got a 12th spot. It'll be an auto-draft, and unmanaged team (doubt I'd feel like doing two teams), but at least we'd have a league/season.

I'll give it until dinner time (3 more hour or so), and if we're still at 11, I'll sign up with jingle.son's id. It'll be an auto-draft, but I can at least manage the team so it's not an absentee manager during the season. Not an ideal scenario, but better than having the league blown up.
