I guess you are to glam/hair metal what Blob is to modern melodic rock.  If you hate it... it must be great!

In which case, you must believe that 95% of modern melodic rock is great, which would invalidate your opinion yet again.

I don't actually. I find a lot of Frontiers stuff to be formulaic and mostly cut from the same cloth.  Not much stands out.  But hey, my opinion's invalid anyway.   ::)  :P

Chad, that VV album is unlistenable to be because that singer (Robert Fleischman?) voice grates my ears.  I like Vinnie's second album with Mark Slaughter singing.

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I wouldn't quite call it unlistenable, but you're right... Slaughter makes that second album  :hefdaddy

Frontiers = samey (for the most part)

I meant the previous post. The sameyness of Frontiers music doesn't require further explanation.

Not for me. I feel like that about Slaughter. The VVI album is a great OTT 80s hard rock album. The follow up was tame and lost all the character.
I grew up on Geddy Lee too so that maybe helped.

Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood

Earlier today, was listening to a podcast discussing MC's history.  Afterwards, I listened to Shout At The Devil (my introduction to them back in 83.  I originally had it on vinyl when it came out.  It actually had a warning on it that the record may contain backwards messages!  :lol ).  Now, I'm listening to Feelgood.  Gonna follow it up with my personal fave of theirs, the self-titled album.

Rush is my favorite band but I couldn't take Robert's voice.

Well suck me sideways... there goes a band (Vengeance) I thought I might be able to use for your roulette.  Is that Parry on the end, and Arjen 3rd from the left?  Or is it just a stock photo of nobody's?

Big on the new Nightwish right now, but also have been digging out all my DT stuff.  Just dropped some coin on a nice new car audio system and it's interesting how much better, and different DT and other stuff sounds.  For instance, on ADToE I can seriously hear JM now, note for note.  Everything is just so crisper and no distortion.

Correct

No Parry , but yes Arjen is 3rd from the left.

Yeah jj - finally the finish line is in sight .  Doing a comprehensive review of 1987 has been a bit of a task.

Been listening to this one a lot lately. The new one, too, but not as much as Imaginaerum.

Possibly not the most consistent record but Fire In Your Skin is an all time fave and one of those songs that takes me back  :metal :metal

I think it's an outstanding album. What would you rank the Lethal discography Brent? I love the first two but think the third, Poison Seed, is garbage. They went for a different sound, like a poor mans AIC and never recovered

When you say their first two jj which are you referring to?  AFAIK there was only Programmed and a couple of demos prior to Poison Seed which ,as you say ,was crap.

If you're referring to the Your Favourite God EP then I like that too.   I've never ranked them as such but will have a proper listen in the next day or two.  Been a while.    If memory serves I probably thought the EP was more consistent but the LP has my fave song of theirs.
