Now trying to dive into another—apparently—classic, The Black Company by Glen Cook. My favourite bookstore finally (after seven months of waiting) got the omnibus edition containing the first three books in the series, so of course I bought it and hopefully it's good.
Okay, so finished that, finished
Shadows Linger and also finished
The White Rose. I felt the overall mythology and the whole big picture was done very well, but the minor details were kinda meh. Like I really should've expected that cause this isn't high fantasy, but the setting is high fantasy and seeing all the big magic battles skipped because the story is from the PoV of a physician with "I slept. All the magic users had a blast last night, eighteen of them died" is just aaarrghhhh. Each book was better than the previous one though.
Now trying
The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie, a hundred pages in, it's super dull so far. If it keeps going like that, it's gonna be my first DNF in ages.
