If I had a strap-on like yours, I would definitely flaunt it

TWSS

Which is strangely fitting since it's the name of my band

But yeah Orbert, I get what you mean. I do fill in gigs as a background or accompanying pianist where I definitely want to stay out of the spot too. I really only do it because it fits the group. I've grown into it too, in the early years of my music making career I didn't like solo's. Nasty things, if you do it right it's okay, if you do it wrong you look like a faker.

Me at the (very) local bar in St. Petersburg playing The Resistance on Sunday night. For some reason, we were all dressed in different ridiculous hats found at the bar.

The bar is very difficult to find if you don't know where it is—it's in the center of the city, but away from the main streets and pretty much impossible to get there even by navigator. There's little to no light outside on the street. So, we ordered pizza (the bar mostly has drinks only) at about 1 A.M., and naturally, the delivery guy took a wrong turn somewhere and couldn't find us. Well, three of us went to find him, obviously in the same outfit we were playing. I guess what he saw was three silhouettes, one wearing a pirate hat, one sporting a cowboy hat, and me in that hat you see in the picture, all striding towards him from around the corner. When we got closer to him, his face was really priceless. :lol

Were you Red team or Blue team?

I was Blue, but like half of the team believed I was Red (including another Red player—we don't do the spy acquaintance Mafia-style phase, usually playing blind instead), so she (that other Red player, who was under basically no suspicion during the game) picked me and another Resistance member for the mission with three people and chose to succeed it, being sure that I—being more or less exposed as the bad guy—would definitely throw a fail card. Therefore, the mission succeeded. :D

There was much confusion, but we won that particular game.

Did he get a big tip for you guys scaring him to death?

Hey, I'm not sure. They told me there are delivery guys that are used to this, but apparently this particular one was a new guy on the job.

At the Mastodon concert with my youngest daughter and son-in-law. Notice the tie-die DT 2002 Turbulence tour T-Shirt. Several people asked me about it while I was in the merch line.

Fucking fantastic! Their stage show was very cool and I'm pretty sure Brent was completely sober because you could actually hear words when he sang and no trainwrecks were witnessed.  :lol Much head banging ensued.  :metal :metal

Very cool picture!  I am thinking about going to the show here in Nashville, TN.  The show is downtown in the historic Ryman with the church pew seats(ouch).  Did you all have two opening bands or just one?  I am not too keen on two opening bands before Mastadon(Russian Circles and Eagles of Death Metal).

Wonder if they will add Jaguar God sometime in the tour.  I see mosh pit in that last section.

They had the same warm up bands. I deliberately arrived late (general admission) to miss them but wound up watching all of EoDM set. They were pretty entertaining and my daughter liked the combination of heavy rock to dance music rhythms so I had a fun time laughing and dancing with her.  Also, because of city ordinances they had to finish before midnight so no encore for Mastodon. Too bad too because the crowd was all there and really active. The 'Don could be a great solo act but at our altitude (SLC) I think Brann (considering his style) would collapse before they could finish a whole set.

Yes, I was surprised when I looked at the tour list and saw Nashville thinking it would be War Memorial where I will see Opeth next Thursday.  No Mosh pit at the Ryman, but War Memorial is general admission on the floor, so it may get entertaining on the floor.  The Opeth show starts at 8:30, my normal bed time.

Yea Im seeing Opeth next week, but in Philly the Opeth/Gojira/Devin Townsend tour meets and combines with the Mastadon tour for one hell of a concert ticket.
