Prog/Metal Vocal Showdown #25: Duda vs Morse

Well, this is an easy one for me, and though Riverside does have some fans around here, my gut says this will be a landslide.  I've never connected with Riverside despite more than a few attempts.  So, it's all Morse for me.  He's got one of those voices that goes down like 18 year old scotch.

While I might be slightly biased because I don't really listen to much Neal Morse, I think in terms of pure vocal-ability, Duda is a better man. Now, maybe you prefer Morse's voice or maybe you like his music more. I can totally see why someone might prefer him, but in terms of range/vocal-ability I still think Duda is a clear winner. (I've heard maybe a handful of Morse songs and one album)

I'm with Duda here.  I feel he is the more talented vocalist, but also his voice has more distinguished "character" whereas Morse is more of an "everyman" singer.

Morse. Not a Riverside fan and can't remembe rthe singer at all. SB on the otherhand were great. As is Transatlantic.

Haven't liked a thing Morse has done in his life, so this is the easiest thing in the world. Duda all the way.

Mariusz is one of my fave singers and outdoes Neal on every front (yes, even songwriting - I haven't listened to much early Spock's but I don't think it's better than Riverside and Lunatic Soul). Come at me.

While I like Morse's various projects more musically than I like Riverside, I love Duda's voice. A lot. He gets my vote.

Neal Morse has always sounded good in whatever various projects he's been in, but he's never wowed me.

Duda, on the other hand, is the bomb. He has a great voice and he should get more love than he does.

Duda all the way.

Duda. Not that into Morse's vocals (or music) too much anymore, but Duda's fantastic and is the better singer/musician IMO.

Duda, he can do a somber voice then go into a harsh voice. I prefer his somber voice more.
