I'd go far enough back to be the original inventor of Post-It notes.   :corn

Music fans talkin' 'bout music... :lol

Isn't it weird how we used to imagine the future as bright and shiny with flying cars, and now it's invariably a nuclear dystopia?

We're basically at the point where we should have hoverboards and flying cars and hookerbots, but still nothin'. I think people are jaded that the future has failed them. Now it's time to just riot and fulfill either the Terminator or planet of the apes scenario. Or both. Terminapers.

You had me at hookerbots.
Zydar is my new hero.  I just laughed so hard I nearly shat.

I disagree. We have all of the world's knowledge at our fingertips, at all times (plus massess of pornography and cat videos), and can play video games by waving our arms around in front of cameras and sensors which can read our heartbeat.

I would say the future is already here.

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.

I wouldn't consider gimmicky video games to be a sign of the future, but you have me on the porn point. :hat

But until there are robots either pleasuring me or destroying me (or both, I'll take what I can get), I just can't in good conscience consider it "the future" just yet. Let's not get too complacent here.
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

I'd go back to 1978, when I turned 10 years old, and do this all over again.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

I'd probably head to about 1950 and watch musical history become written with Elvis, Cash, Beatles, all the way up through to the formation of bands like Zeppelin and Metallica.
1960s, England or California. To experience that music scene would be a dream come true.
But, wouldn't it be a bit boring when you know exactly what's coming? If you go back to the 50s or 60s, then for the next half century you already know ALL of the major albums that are going to come out, and all the new fads and styles and genres.

Surely it's more exciting to be here now, with no idea what will happen next but still have all that music from the past as well?
Hell no, not for me. One of my favorite aspects about the music I like is sharing the experience with others. I love sitting down and watching one of my favorite movies or shows with someone who has never seen it. I love that maybe even more than my own first experience seeing or hearing it. The only concert I've ever been to was Metallica back in 2008, and it was one of the best days of my life. As fun as the concert was, I loved standing in line with hundreds of strangers who shared the same love as me. In the same vein, some of my favorite movies were a little before my time. What I would give to see Ghostbusters in a theater of people who have never seen it... I'm one of those people who goes to midnight showings because I find the crowd experience nearly as fun as the film itself.
Listen! Do you smell something?
