I wish he still had the shorter hair he did in TSCO documentary. Same goes for Mike Mangini. It doesn't really bother me though, I just thought it looked better.  :lol

You're crazy, man, on LaBrie, that hair looked absolutely horrendously awful.
Mike's style on TSCO doc was great though, I wouldn't mind if he went back to that. But I like the way it is now as well, so I don't mind either way. But JLB's short hair looked terrible. Worse than 5YIALT.

Oh well, at least it's not Claudio Sanchez's hair.  :lol

Apparently quite a few people liked MM's old hair style, though. (I have this saved)
Quote from: Mike Mangini, Facebook, September 24, 2013
Because there is as much interest in this than in drumming, here is a bit about drummer's hair: Most of us don't like it in our faces. Longer hair has more weight and stays off the face better than medium length in general. Short hair doesn't do anything fun or wild to match rock/metal music. I do not know any drummers that have hair extensions, including me. My hair grows wickedly fast. Bushier, or wavier hair finds a home in my mouth every 3 seconds. People guess correctly that long haired drummers are not airline pilots, state senators, or professional baseball players. Most of us don't wear hats on stage out of respect for a professional environment, unless the situation is casual. Hair style changes makes for great gossip, babbling and often trumps more important internet news, like good deeds, awesome chicken recipes, or the release of new music.

Anyways, relative to the thread, I couldn't understand anything James said in KC this year (aside from the hump day quote). I don't know if it was the way he talks, the volume of the show, or both, but most of it was indistinguishable. Everybody pretty much just yelled or clapped at whatever he said I think.

I do wonder what style MM is going with next. The one during ADToE's tour was pretty good. The straightened hair seems to be disliked (not majorly, but still). Perhaps short hair is coming up?

Love his new 'red' hair btw
WHERE, what

You must be slipping!

Funny statement from MM about his hair. Just the other day I was thinking it looked like hair extensions, but then I remember that it's been quite a while he's been in the band now, and straightened hair can look a lot longer than it seems when curly.

I seem to have started an offtopic conversation about hair, sorry
Don't think it's interesting enough to open a topic about it, although people seem to have their opinions.

Anyway, I hope I can make out James' words this time at the concert (DT Wednesday in Tilburg) : p

I was at KC and sound was less then desirable.  Started out ok but then they pushed it and things got distorted and muddled.  I did notice that they did not have as many speakers as other shows so maybe they were trying to compensate.

My ears are still ringing :yarr

Haha, you and me both.  I saw the Chicago and KC shows both in the span of five days and the difference was massive.  The Chicago show was perfect volume, making it arguably my 2nd most enjoyable DT show to date, while the KC show was ear-splittingly loud, making it far less enjoyable.  Even up in the balcony, where two of us moved up to early on, it was deafening.

I really thought the sound got better throughout the night. I couldn't even hear James (like at all) during some parts of TSF, but the last half of the show was much clearer I thought. Maybe it was where I was sitting, or the songs they played. It was too loud though. I went to eat downtown after the show and I couldn't even hear myself ordering. I wonder if it is because of having fewer speakers like Badger said, or if it's because the venue is just small. Either way it was odd seeing a DT show in a theater with statues of naked guys, and painted like a Mexican restaurant.  :lol

My first DT show though, so I still loved it.

My brother and I constantly mock the way he speaks on the different live albums especially Score  :rollin it's really funny.

"And as we shuffle through this treazhaaa...........   We've been pulling out some pretty obscure ssoowngs."

Sometimes if I have to read something out loud, I will just do the whole thing speaking Score-style because of how goofishly epic it sounds. Not that other live albums are excluded! -it's just Score is more in touch with it's epicness.

Seriously a legendary part of the LALP show.

I also remember him saying something like... "we are shooting a live DVD!". It just kinda sounded funny to me because "DVD" just sounds a little outdated. It's all about the blu ray.

I just love the way he pronounces song titles. A few hilarious examples:

"Underaglasss... Mawnnahh" - 1993
"This one is: CAH! IN! A! UUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEBBB" - 1994
"This one is from Six Degrees Of Inner Tahrbew...LLens" - 2002
"PAW! ME! UN! DAH!" 1993-2014
"I'm gonna tell you a (low voice) *Lie*" - 2014

Why?  I can't think of a recent live release I have where the band have announced during the show that they are shooting a live BluRay.  They always say "DVD."  That is still pretty much the standard.
