Your favorite of these 28-35 minute stretches

30-35 minutes, give or take.

And yes, I intentionally made this poll a difficult one to choose.

All of these are ridiculously awesome, so it is hard to choose, but I'll go with the Awake option.

At the moment I really can't decide. I feel like the Awake option would be a good contender had Voices been a track closer to Scarred. I'm leaning more towards the SFAM and I&W options.

I&W easily, the others all have a weaker part, but that ending to I&W... cant be beat

I went with the I&W option but SFAM was a seriously close contender.

Well the I&W option features my 2 favourite songs in LTL and Metropolis (plus UAGM, which I prefer to any of the other songs in the poll, aside from TGP), so the other selections have no chance  :lol The SFAM set is a distant second.

Images and Words.  The other options are pretty great, too, but it's hard to beat the second half of I&W.
Sincerely,
Jaffa

I&W. Awake could've been a competition, but that's my favorite part off I&W.

SFAM. Not difficult to choose at all. The I&W was the only one that came close.

Six Degrees. TGP and Blind Faith=Nothing else had a chance.
The Awake, SDOIT and I&W stretches are probably the best parts of each album, and Awake and I&W would be very good choices had my #2 and #7-9 song (BF is somewhere in between there  :lol) were not together in one option.

I left out SFAM because, while SFAM is my favorite album and I love all those songs, I think the second half, starting with Home's outro through FF (I like Home, but the outro into TDoE is just beyond perfection) is the dominant section of the album. Which isn't saying much, because the first half is incredibly strong too.

So, even though SFAM is my favorite album, I'd rank these choices like this:
1. SDOIT
2. I&W
3. Awake (Had SDVest made it in it'd be #2)
4. SFAM

You're right Kev.  Really tough choices.  I went with I&W, but they are all awesome.

Though choices, except for the second (never really been a fan of Scenes from a Memory); but I had to go with the last one. Nothing tops it.

This is actually really easy for me. Only one of these options includes 2 top 10 songs with the other two being top 20. The back half of Images, no contest.

The 6DOIT option has my 3rd and 4th favorite DT songs, so I had to go with that one.

If there were a Train of Thought option for TDS, Endless Sacrifice and Honor Thy Father, I'd pick that instead.

I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

The SDOIT option by a hair over the SFAM option. The SDOIT has the stronger songs overall, but there's no better way to start an album than how SFAM kicks off (yes, I realize the poll couldn't include Regression, but close enough).
Only King could mis-spell a LETTER.
Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.
