Tough call between the first two and the CA tour, but I have to give the slight edge to Vapor Trails tour; it just had so many classics, as well as a bunch of new great ones.  Plus, I have major nostalgic love for it, since it was the return of the boys, and the show I saw in August 2002 remains one of my three favorite shows by anyone, ever.

The CA tour was awesome with all of those Clockwork Angels and Power Windows songs.

The R30 set list was absolute money as well, but it was pretty similar to the VT one, and while I get why they did some covers, their presence devalued the set list a little, especially when compared to these others.

The first set of the S&A tour was a diehard fan's wet dream - we saw the return of Mission, Circumstances and Digital Man, as well as the first live debut of Entre Nous, and then the return of Ghost of a Chance on the 2008 leg - but, while I liked S&A a lot, five songs in a row from it to kick off the 2nd set just sucked the life out of many live crowds.  One Little Victory as an encore remains one of their biggest set list WTFs ever.

The Time Machine tour set list was solid, what with all of MP, but that middle section of the first set had a lot of fans scratching their heads, myself included.  I love Leave That Thing Alone, but I think that was a bad spot for it, and while I don't dislike Stick It Out, Workin' Them Angels, Faithless or BU2B, them occupying four of the five slots of a five-song run was more than a bit questionable.  And ending the second set with Far Cry?  Just, no.

If judging only be the setlists, it would be Clockwork Angels followed by Snakes and Arrows.

CA was so damn refreshing I had to pick it.

Every tour there are those nuggets us Rush nuts love (seeing Between The Sun And Moon on the opening night of the VT tour) but CA was electric.  *nugget*

Vapor Trails! I saw that tour as a 15 year old kid and it was magical. Clockwork Angels was amazing too though.

To be honest, I think the setlist from all of last few tours are great but I had to go with the Clockwork Angels Tour set list. When I saw them they played the "B" set with Middletown Dreams, The Pass, Wish Them Well and Dreamline as part of the set. Loved the '80s oriented first set, and they finally played Where's My Thing? for the first time in 20 years. I had always hoped to see live since I became a fan and as soon as I was about to lose hope on ever hearing it live, they bring it out which was great. Grand Designs was the surprise favorite song that tour for me. Overall, it was a great tour IMO.

I'd actually go with R30.  Mainly because of Between the Wheels.

Least favorite by far is R30, but there are a lot of gems there too.

The version of Red Barchetta on R30 might be the best I've ever heard for one.

I'm sure the evening with format has something to do with it, but  there aren't too many sets from their whole career that can compete with those.

Test For Echo
Counterparts
Grace Under Pressure
Signals
Permanent Waves
Hemispheres

Hemispheres, to me, will always be *the* ultimate Rush setlist.    Permanent Waves is close...but I believe they had to slightly shorten the epics from the previous tour.

But Test for Echo scores pretty high for the fully unabridged 2112 for the first time ever.  (and I actually got to *see* that one)

But Clockwork Angels scores among the top 5 greatest setlists of all time to me.

I would probably have to say Clockwork Angels Tour.  The main reasons why I bought that DVD (not just because of the free shirt that came with it) was for that setlist and the live strings ensemble.

As for the 2nd, I would say Snakes & Arrows just because of Entre Nous, the S&A songs, and Passage To Bangkok.  I do like Vapor Trails a lot since it was probably the most balanced setlist.

Hemispheres pretty much encapulates everything that Rush in the 1970s had to offer and they put it all in one tour.

They changed so much after that which makes it pretty impossible to pick a favorite tour from the '80s and to a lesser extent the 1990s.

The tours after that with the exception of R30 (which also had its moments) are pretty much peerless.
