Meshuggah - "Shed" Drum Cover (plus an original song)
« on: April 02, 2014, 08:51:29 PM »
Hey all, just wanted to post a cover that I completed yesterday. It's from Catch Thirty-three, on of my all-time favorite albums. I chose to give "Shed" a go, as I really like the drum parts on this particular track. Hope you enjoy it! Any feedback/critique is appreciated. I also chose to upload one of me and my brother's original tunes as well.

Thanks

I understand where you're coming from. This particular track is somewhat repetitive in nature, but within the context of Catch Thirty-three as a whole, Shed really "functions" quite well (for lack of a better way to put it). Either way, thanks for watching man!

FlyingBIZKIT, thank you as well :)

Meshuggah can be pretty monotonous. I like them, but I can see how they might bore some people.

Compare that song to Ticks And Leeches by Tool - it's got a repetitive drum pattern but it builds to a climax then the song changes course.

I can't imagine Listening to that drum intro for Ticks And Leeches for that entire song.
