Different Set Ideas

Changing an already ideal setlist is a fairly challenging task. Nevertheless, for the sake of making suggestions, I could trade off:

• Trial Of Tears - for The Count of Tuscany
• On the Backs of Angels - for The Bigger Picture
• Scarred - for Another Hand/The Killing Hand
The inclusion of Octavarium would also be fantastic but it would eat up a lot of time. The Illumination Theory is the track I want to see live THE MOST so it'd better stay where it is.

This is going off of the idea of a segmented 12-Step Suite. Obviously the band has too much character and respect for its father for that, but whatever.

Now this is probably about 15 minutes over, so can someone trim the fat? I can't bring myself to do it and would probably have to cram On the Backs of Angels somewhere in there.

I think if they were ever to do the entire 12SS (Which I almost 100% doubt will ever happen), they'd do it in one shot as a second set with maybe an epic or BAI to close it.

(This set is based off the idea of them doing it during this touring cycle)

Clocks in 2 minutes longer than the current set does in iTunes. The thing I don't like about setting aside the entire second set (and in this tour's case, the encore as well) for a specific album or suite is that it makes the first set feel a little disjointed to me. I mean it works, but I rather both sets be open to their entire catalog, which lets the construction of the set flow more organically. That being said, this set ^ would be a pretty neat thing to see on this tour, but not an idea I'd want them to do often.

I made yet another set list based on this touring cycle. Basically, took some songs from albums that had yet to be represented on the tour, and did some magical set list things. It's not as bold a set list as the current one, but one song that seems to not get a lot of love around here is in it. I personally think it would make a great live song.

I'm guessing their set will be about 80-90 minutes?

I'd say either 75 or 90 since their headlining the second stage. I would imagine either a shorter version of the setlist they'll be playing on the second European leg, or a combo of festival songs and some from the set they've been playing.
