My Song
« on: February 27, 2014, 07:34:49 AM »
Hi

In my spare time, I like to make music. I'm a big Opeth and DT fan. I recently completed my first song and wanted to get people's feedback and opinions :) It's made entirely using virtual instruments. I programmed the drums, and virtually played the guitar, bass, etc.

I can already see a lot of things that I can improve on for my next song project!

The song is intended to have clean and growled vocals, but I'm not sure if I'm up to it hahah.

It's untitled, but based on the lyrics I had in mind, it would probably be called Lucid Dream (I thought of that months before I heard DT12 ;) )

Enjoy and thanks for listening :)

Loved the keys at 1:50  :hat

The piano at 3:15 is cool too  :tup

The Opeth influence is certainly very easy to recognize.   :metal

Question, though, you said "all virtual instruments" does that include the guitar?

Thanks a bunch for your comment! :)

Yes, it includes the guitars. I use a product called V-Metal https://www.prominy.com/V_METAL.htm

The song actually runs 2 instances of this (3 in some places) to give a more believable sound. I also use a separate Guitar Rig instance on each one and pan them into each other.

I worked hard to try to make it sound believable. I guess it worked hahah :P
