DT covers for my band
« on: February 25, 2014, 07:34:25 AM »
Any suggestions of DT songs that could work well if covered by a 5 piece band with 2 guitars? Looking at the simpler end of the DT spectrum, before you all throw "TDOE" in as your suggestion!

Here's what my band does occasionally:

Overture 1928 /
Strange Deja-Vu
6:00
Wither
Solitary Shell /
About to Crash (Reprise)
The Root of All Evil
The Dance of Eternity
A Change of Seasons (parts of it)

Keep in mind all those songs require only 1 guitar and keyboards. Good luck!
Hey dude slow the fuck down so we can finish together at the same time.

Yeah a few might be possible for my band. We don't have a keyboardist, and the drummer doesn't do double pedal which limits us quite a lot :p I'll put a few of the suggestions out there to the other bandies and see what they think

No keyboards makes it very difficult for any DT song..

We have 2 guitars, so if you take a song that does primarily synth-y stuff you can replace the keys parts with effects-laden guitars to reasonable effect. Its mostly the chord stuff that is impossible :p

I wouldn't play DT without a keyboardist, that's a big part of their sound.
