Me too. Saw their first ever show (glad I did energy was off the charts) and my commitment to this band began and ended right there. (Save for reading this thread I guess.) I really don't have an opinion on anything else as I've no desire to hear any of it.

Not sure why the lightning rod exists, but I'm no Symphony X fan so maybe that's why I don't get it.

I just think that they represent all of what people dislike in music, especially here on DTF.

Start with the excitement and anticipation of an MP/Allen project. Then the disappointment that it's nothing like anyone had hoped. It could not be more generic and uninspired which totally goes against what is heralded in these parts. They have become the ultimate whipping post.

I wasn't all that excited, but then I'm not exactly Russell Allen's biggest fan either.
Generally, I judge this stuff on the lineup and there was nothing but Portnoy for me here.

Damn, that doesn't sound good at all indeed. The deceased person is from the RV according to that article (which is of the band, right?). And there are band members amongst the 6 injured in the hospital (of these injured 3 persons are in critical condition). I hope everybody pulls through!

These guys can't catch a break. Googling it reminded my of their 2014 crash, where their equipment was destroyed and they had to cancel their tour. Fortunately no major injuries back then.

Some people on Twitter have said it's a band member who passed away, unconfirmed that it was the bass player.

Oh man, this is terrible. After getting over the initial shock of the band's direction. I have to admit I do enjoy Undaunted and their cover of Come Undone. Not that my enjoyment has anything to do with this crash. This is just terrible and I hope everyone else pulls through. It was a bad crash though.

Two band members have now died in this band (the drummer after MP). I can't imagine how difficult this is for all of them.

I read in FB comments that he was hospitalized but released only a few hours later. The person claimed to call the hospital themselves to get this info (which is a little weird) but if she was correct then that's good news at least.
