So now they're Saliva.

Might as well be Static X

Hm? That sounded nothing like Static X. Static X isn't very good, but they're quite distinct.

This is exactly the same as Undaunted from their first album.  Check it out, it's laughable.

Yeah, I also noticed that some of the riffs were eerily similar to those in that song. :mehlin

I do like the first album but it's pretty clear that this band is just going further down the hill with every subsequent release. I don't imagine any of the other songs on the new album will be much different in quality to this.

I simply cannot understand how anybody might like this. Absolutely generic, boring, etc.

The only thing i feel while listening to this is an urge to get Russell Allen out of there as fast as i can. How can he be singing crap like this?  :(

That song sucks.

I kinda enjoyed the first album. I was expecting the worst, but without MP, I have ZERO interest in this. I do not connect with Russell Allen at all.

I just meant it reminded me of that whole god-awful 2001 ish period when every band sounded like that.

Without the solos and busy drumming though. It was horrid.

That new song is pure garbage in my opinion, it sounds like a cover of Undaunted without the slight sense of melody that song at least had. I don't know, their debut album had lyrics that screamed midlife crisis, now they have an actual song sounding like that and clip to compliment it. Still interested in their album though, I expect there to be some songs I can dig.

Also, Stone Sour's new song is great in my opinion, catchy chorus and Corey's performance is energetic. Watching these clips next to each other makes the AM song fall even flatter.

I'm still fascinated that a band that practically no one likes, especially not now, generates more discussion than probably dozens of bands we all likely enjoy a lot more. :lol

Yes. The Stone Sour vid at least has some tongue in cheek to it. The AM video is 100% macho posturing.

I like David Z and when I heard that he'd joined AM, I kinda winced, thinking "I'm not sure that was a great move".  Hopefully I'm wrong.

Yeah, I read that in the SX thread. It makes me sad but I can see why to be honest. SX has massive gaps inbetween releasing their albums and just does not feel like a very productive artist. That said, it makes me sad because I hoped Underworld marked a turnaround for them.

Well, at least I'll see Russel rock out in the Ayreon shows and we will get a dvd out of that. Maybe I'll go to a AMob show one of these days but that will depend on their touring setlist a lot (the more classic covers, acoustic performances/ballads, and "MP-era" songs, the better).

" I'm 100% committed to Adrenaline Mob " .

That is the worst thing I've read in a long time.

Yeah for the timebeing.  Hopefully what ever issues there are, time will heal.

Symphony X can be slow as molasses, so that could be Russell's issue with the band.  He seems like a very hard worker who needs to be constantly active.

Yeah, I didn't see anything from the article that indicated anything else than the usual long hiatus SX takes after every album.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

I mean, SX is his thing really, so it would be interesting to really know if he knew about RA's comments beforehand or what.  Just to see if everyone's on the same page.

Maybe Romeo is feeling the same and wants to take a break to concentrate on a solo album as such.  Perhaps nothing has been discussed but a year down the track, hopefully things change.

If Romeo does a solo album, I hope it's a Magnus Karlsson Freefall type of album!

I don't think there's anything to be on board with.  Russell is just saying:

1.  There are no future plans for Symphony X to tour or put out another record.  He didn't specify a time frame.  He didn't say that the band broke up.  He's just saying that they don't have anything planned for a while.  That's normal for them, and he may not be happy about it.

2.  He's 100% committed to Adrenaline Mob.  That doesn't mean that he's not committed to Symphony X, or the Ayreon shows, or the TSO tour.  It's just that he stands behind the band and their new record, and this is the time to promote it.
