This band must surely call it quits now, The main attraction was Portnoy, he's gone, they're not getting a break and I'm sure all the money they are investing in it must be going down the drain... They cant even be getting 50% back...

RIP AJ I cant even imagine what its like for a band member to die on tour  :(

We've come full circle...

Russell Allen Jackson Brown Recluse....

In all seriousness, if they had any interest in giving up, they would have done it a while ago.  I don't know much about the people in the band but I get the feeling that they are having a hell of time playing that music and don't care that they are making very little money.

On a different note:

They are on tour with Drowning Pool who also had a band member (their vocalist) die on a tour bus several years ago.  weird.

And in more ways than one. This is now the second time MP is filling in for a deceased drummer.

He should change his name to Mike Mort-noy.

If the unthinkable happened and mangini were to have an accident -

- I wonder if DT would invite Portnoy back.

If MP ever returned to DT, they'd most likely have to look for a new singer and bassist.

Dee Snider says Pero had advanced heart disease:

https://ultimateclassicrock.com/aj-pero-cause-of-death/

Addresses also the peculiar decision to keep touring even though their drummer died. Apparently they want to help Pero's family finance that way.
Even though, I still find it weird.

People always say "He would have wanted us to carry on" but I don't doubt AJ Pero would have wanted to.  I mean, he was the replacement drummer in a relatively unknown band.  If an established band with a long history all of the sudden lost a member in a tragic way then yeah, it would be weird.

BTW, I watched the tribute video they posted from the show and at the end they showed some drumcam footage from AJ Pero.  The dude was a monster on the drums.  I'm not into any of the music he was on but maybe on a boring day I might be inspired to listen to some of it more in depth.

The carrying on for AJ Pero will be done by Twisted Sister because he was their long time drummer. Not sure what is status actually was in AM, but it's irrelevant to his legacy.
And Shep, not sure what you're into but if you like good classic hard rock, You Can't Stop Rock n Roll and Stay Hungry are both classics.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

My mother works at the church where his mass was being held. She said it was a mob scene. The street was closed off, etc.

Man, this is heartbreaking to read. But ... man, seriously, 19 years together, have a child together, and you don't set up a will? When you know you have advanced heart disease?

Wow!  Even if you didn't know. We drew up wills when we got married. Although I completely get it's not all that pleasant to talk about.

Why should Dee specifically help more than others? The guy is hardly rolling in dough, right? He's the singer of a has-been glam metal band.

Even if they weren't made up, your net worth means that if you sold all the rights to your music catalog, your house, your assets, etc...then you would have that much money.  It doesn't mean how much money you've got in the bank.

But I think that those numbers are indeed pretty much made up.

All of those assets are totally private. There is simply no way for anyone to know what exactly he owns and what not.

You can go to your hall of records and get quite a bit of asset information on a person.

About their personal finances? Hardly.
The only thing that could give sufficient information would be the person's tax return, but those are completely private.

Stock? Property value?  Publishing rights?  All public and make a considerable amount of people net worth.

With that said, I AGREE WITH YOU that those net worth sites are bullshit.  They are filled with popups and ads and probably employ a total of 2 people using the most general and vague information to come up with a bullshit number.  No way are they employing people to sift through thousands of documents for some celebrities as obscure as the guys in Dream Theater to come up with even a ballpark accurate figure.

You would never know how much it constitutes of their overall holdings however. Even for the richest dudes, I would guess the majority of their wealth is still bound in funds and stocks that only their tax advisor and the IRS have information about.
Seriously, without a court order it is virtually impossible to estimate somebody's net worth.

I'm in the process of taking somebody to court right now and I've been able to find quite a bit of the property they own down at the county records division.

I can also go online and type their address and it will give me their property tax (and that just isn't real estate) and get quite a bit of info.  The trick is just like Google.  Finding a few keywords to get started.

So I saw a guy wearing an A-Mob shirt at LAX this morning.
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
