A.C.T - New Album 2014
« on: February 10, 2014, 09:36:24 AM »
Are there are any fellow A.C.T fans here on DTF? They're on Spotify for those of you who are interested and I recommend songs like "Torn By a Phrase", "Truth Is Pain" or "Manipulator". They're a swedish prog rock/metal band, but a bit more of a wacky feeling than the standard ones.

Anyways, their very long awaited new album called "Circus Pandemonium" is released this march and a teaser has just been released, and I personally think it sounds great:

So glad to see other A.C.T fans here.   Imaginary Friends is the first CD I ever heard from them and is brilliant.    Many people compare them to Saga if case anyone wanted a reference point for them.

I think they waited to long with the new CD - here's hoping they didn't loose too many fans.
I'm still one and looking forward to the album!  :hat

Imaginary Friends is the one I like the least actually, still like it though. But the three after that have been gold so far.

Seeing them live this May, hopefully it will be cool. My dad has seen them before and apparently they're good live.

Have the first three, but I couldn't tell you the last time I listened to any of them.

ABOUT TIME WE GOT A TEASER! YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

This is one of my most anticipated releases ever.

I love this band so much. They write eclectic and extremely memorable prog songs. If there is any band that captures everything I like about music, it's these guys. Except for the jazzier side of things. (By this, I mean that this band does not capture the part of me that loves jazz, swing and bop. If they went further and incorporated even this, that would cover nearly all my bases in one band, but I don't see that happening :lol)

Love these guys, but yeah, the long period between albums, they've practically fallen off my radar. Hopefully it was worth the wait.

Album came out a few days ago...

After the first listen, all I can say is it needs more listens. Doesn't capture me the same way three of their four previous albums do, but this album sure does have its moments too.

I haven't even heard it yet. I was hoping that it would be added to Spotify until I have money to spend on albums and stuff, but there's nothing there, which bums me out.

Yeah, $25 is a bit too much to be paying for a CD.  It's the shipping of $9.00 that kills the deal.  I can't believe they don't have distribution here in the US?

Just going back to this thread to see how the new album is holding up for everyone now after some time of digesting it.

I bought it at the live show I went to and I have to say that I am really starting to dig this album. My favorite one is probably the last one, 'Freak of Nature', but there are quite a few really cool ones on there.

Got Nick hooked on this album.  I still play it at least once a week.

This new one actually ended up being my favorite of theirs.

I think I'm going to see if I can get my hands on a copy of that live DVD

Just remember that it was not played in front of an audience. But very cool, nevertheless. I really enjoyed the live portion, as well as the interviews and other stuff. Well done.  :tup
