Aw, it actually doesn't seem as cool as it did just from the image. It looks like the guys still have to lay out the pattern, it just makes it easier for them to do so.

Yep. I think the only party in the MP/DT situation that hasn't moved on is DTF.

There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing. They were some of the most carefree stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him. And now he's died for real. Without me. Selfish bastard.

Yeah, it's weird. One disassociates oneself from that time if it's in B/W.

I love how the huge rubber ducky is just cruising in with the rest of the fleet.  "So far, so good. I don't think anyone has noticed me yet..."

I saw the picture pop up in my FB feed earlier today but I had no idea what it was for, I just knew it was amazing. What's not to be amused by? It's a giant rubber ducky, as adorable as it is monstrous.

^^That's crazy but cool!

I always loved the winter, I guess because I have relatives up north that I used to visit alot as a kid. They lived in the middle of nowhere so it was always so calm and a big relief from the city life. We used to play around in the forest during the winter and plowing around in the deep snow. Good times! Something about this picture that I love, it reminds me of how peaceful it could be up north.

That is beautiful. Like you, I have always loved Winter far more than Summer - I wish we'd get Winters like that on a regular basis here in Germany.

The Grand Canyon, this morning:

I have to think that snow in The Grand Canyon is pretty rare.

And as some may know, there was a Total Inversion a couple weeks ago.  A Total Inversion is basically when clouds form on the ground because cooler, dense air gets trapped below a layer of warmer air.  When this happens in a canyon, it fills up with cloud.

It is awesome.

But it makes my eyes angry
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

I realize that that's an old picture, but were people a lot stupider back then or something?  Maybe actual testing dummies hadn't been invented yet, but it didn't occur to them to place the vests on a post or a big block of wood?  They're "testing" the vests.  Some of them will fail, right?

They'd probably tested it in all the other ways, but at some point people are going to want to see it demonstrated on a person, right? It was probably a public display to help sell them.

Also people back then were way more badass than us pussies now.
