New Running Wild record. Apart from some production issues, best work from Rolf and company since Victory, for me.  :metal :metal :metal

Powerwolf, like Sabaton, are just too samey for me to enjoy an album or more of their stuff, but nearly all of their songs are quality power metal that isn't all that innovative or anything, but just tons of fun to listen.

My favourites of their songs are Amen and Attack, Kreuzfeuer, Sanctified With Dynamite, Night of the Werewolves and (just for the sheer ridiculousness) Resurrection by Erection.

That's what I love about them, it's pretty straight forward power metal. Except somewhat different because of the vocalists unique sound, and the lyrical themes which I really enjoy.

This might be the first Hammerfall album I don't buy.  I liked the direction they took on Infected, but was killer, but REvolution was alright but back to Hammerfall by the numbers.  Sounds like this is headed the same way.

Man, I've been listening to the hell out of Infected. I've only recently gotten into them. And while I love their usual stuff like Threshold, Crimson Thunder, etc. I really really love the Infected record. They really wear their influences on their sleeves on that album, And I love it.

That Hammerfall track is boring. Bad lyrics, bad chorus, not particularly well sung...In short, something I don't want to listen to. Not my thing.

New Almah;

Not crazy about the chorus, but this is not bad.  Has a real old school Helloween and Strato vibe IMO.

I like that. Never heard of them.

The singer is Edu who use to be in Angra.  This song is a lot more traditional power metal based then what they have been doing.

Speaking of which..........he has a solo album (been out a few months) that I will be listening to on the weekend.  Anyone heard that?

Wasn't it just old Almah and Angra songs done with piano and shit?  I didn't even bother with it.

Could be - maybe that's why I didn't bother with it back on release.   Noticed again the other day on a release calender and wondered why I had missed it.  Might defer to my original judgement and save the time  :lol

haha.  For me and probably most Aussie's, seeing Bana where he started, it's just impossible for me to take him seriously no matter what he does.

Yeah, with that Edu song, it's a nice rendition, just something I wouldn't listen to.

Uh oh, I may actually catch this one since I will probably still be at Hamburg at September 27th at the end of my two-weeks Ayreon-related vacation. We shall see. Definitely on my radar.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.
